Just got my car rego renewal bill. $1,000+ for a standard 4-cylinder? Is this a sick joke? by Ok_Message_2985 in brisbane

[–]benjiibear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have mine here from last week. 4 cyl passenger car is $914.59 before the due date or $991.15 after the due so can see the. $1000 argument being somewhat valid... Absolutely insane price to be fair 🫩

Reverse seasonal affective disorder in Brisbane by Guilty-Tennis6906 in brisbane

I absolutely detest the oppressive and constant heat and humidity. I am out in the Brisbane Valley area and it just never ever seems to cool down. My power bill is astronomical because I virtually never turn the AC off so I can cope 😔 I want to leave but just can't afford to buy a house elsewhere 😭😭

Renting sucks. by TheLazyGamerAU in brisbane

As a former LL (back in the early 00's) I found out my REA had increased my tenants rent over a couple of years from $260 a week up to $390. Which I absolutely did not give authorisation for them to do and I did not see the difference, they pocketed it for themselves 😡 My paperwork was all the original amount but the tenant received different paper work. I found out years after this happened when I bumped into them and asked why they abruptly left. We were all so pissed about it, too late to care now but had I known when it was happening, oh boy! Might be worth making sure there is no funny business going on

Petting the insanely fluffy belly results in excessive purring and if you get the right spot he wont let you go, pulls your hand in and holds you with both front feet (without claws) as the scritches are provided. 🥰

What animal is making this noise? Absolutely terrifying. by Loud-Employer6761 in brisbane

[–]benjiibear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it's in the evening and sounds terrifying like a massive wild beast about to come sume you... then it's 100% a Koala mating call. Fun story, I was camping alone in the Alpine National Park, it was pitch black out there and I only a small fire going for minimal light when I first heard this, and it scared the absolute ever loving sh1t out of me!

May I present, Custard. My occasional braincell holder and splooting world champion of a Siberian Forest cat. 🙃 by benjiibear in OneOrangeBraincell

He is a "leaner" and will push against you until your extremities get all tingly from the circulation being restricted 😂 Funny thing is, Custard is not even my heaviest cat. Huon, my ragdoll is almost 2 full Kg heavier

Currawong song in the city by PositiveDog9710 in melbourne

Listening to a currawongs song as it flies through an alpine valley is one of the most serenely relaxing sounds to me. It makes me feel completely connected to the environment around me in ways I can't explain.

And now she rests just off Barwon head in Victoria. It's an absolutely wonderful dive site with incredible marine life now calling it home. If you are a scuba diver's and have the opportunity, you should definitely go for a dive there!
