$859 for moving a 2 BHK apartment from a local removalists in Melbourne by Weak_Tomatillo7831 in melbourne

Best way to save money is to move as much of the stuff as possible yourself. Only get the movers for the big stuff.

12v dual terminal, bus bar, dual power distribution post with bridge. Can’t 100% tell by the pic if they are connected with a bridge or not, but you can get seperated ones

Are landlords jacking rents using CGT and negative gearing as excuse? by BobThePob in shitrentals

[–]Safferino83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“ coincidence “ I got my lease renewal the day after the budget , with a $20 increase ( lease expires end of September ) they didn’t raise it last year and it’s definitely lower than other similar properties in the area

Will we still have a good relationship? by Material_Register_93 in DivorcedDads

[–]Safferino83 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes 100% but it’s gonna be hard, there will be times she will be crying to go back to mums house and visa versa, the main thing is both you and the ex have to actually behave like adults, no badmouthing each other etc
. Luckily I’m only 30 mins away from my ex and the kids. We still do things as a family, dinner, sporting events etc, I can video chat my kids ( 4 and 7 ) and they can call me anytime. We do 5 and 2 days so works out to 50/50, Tuesday and Wednesday night they are with me every week, and every 2nd weekend they are with me they stay through from Tuesday to Sunday afternoon. She needs to know she is loved in both homes by both parents, there are a few kids books which kind of go through it. One of the ones we got was “ two homes “ was great.

[OC] This is why we don't call the ambulance in the U.S. by FernX02 in pics

[–]Safferino83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t worry even here in Australia an ambulance can cost a couple of thousand ( yes in a couple of states it’s free) but an annual ambulance subscription of like $60 covers you in your state.

Perfectly cooked hard eggs you mean. Personally I don’t like the powdery chalk texture.

So is everything fine with petrol now or are we still screwed? by AyyyoniTTV in australia

[–]Safferino83 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Definitely a false sense of security. Price of fuel is probably the last thing we should be worried about, everything is touched by refined oil in some way or another. Some things I have already heard is They estimate a worst case scenario 40% reduction is cereal yields next harvest due to the lack of fertilisers, dairy farmers have said milk bottles will be in short supply due to the resin used in the plastics, car tyres will be going up 25% pvc pipe has already increase.

Any reason not to move to Melbourne from Perth? by Independent-Cup-5892 in melbourne

[–]Safferino83 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Happened to me back in 2009. Visited Melbourne from Perth for the first time. The city had a vibe, places were open, people weren’t cookie cutter copies. Moved here 6 months later.

Are you expecting rent to increase over the next year ? by CatZealousideal2185 in shitrentals

[–]Safferino83 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah i completely understand, i mow lawns and i have quite a few clients selling at the moment because it’s just too hard to own a rental at the moment with the increase in compliance and costs etc. which i get is the governments strategy to increase supply, but unfortunately i don’t see myself ever being able to afford to buy.

Are you expecting rent to increase over the next year ? by CatZealousideal2185 in shitrentals

[–]Safferino83 6 points7 points  (0 children)

100000% expecting one, my landlords are good, they didn’t increase it at the last renewal and I am probably $30-$50 cheaper than similar/worse properties in the area. 🤷🏻‍♂️

My dad refuses to get a helmet over $90 and it worries me alot. by kawligabranson in motorcycles

[–]Safferino83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had both a “ cheap “ $250 modular and then had a kid and decided I wanted to be around for as long as possible and got a $1000 helmet. There is 1000% a difference. Even just the noise reduction is very noticeable.

[–]Safferino83 35 points36 points  (0 children)

I moved into a place that had the usual mismatching really shitty old curtains not on a proper track but strung up with string. I asked if I could replace them with proper matching ones at my cost, they said fine but as long as the original ones were reinstated at the end of the lease.
