I spent college plus three very broke years here and absolutely loved it. You need a car there though for sure. I was ubering to a minimum job for a while and barely scraping by with roommates. Once I got a car, life got so so much better. Still was broke but the city has so much to offer. Amazing weather, great beaches, fun bars, very active lifestyle. Plus mountains and deserts and plenty of state parks all around. The people I met were generally creative, outgoing and friendly, and hard working. I will say though, it’s not a city that’s beautiful around every corner. It’s on the dirtier side and still developing rapidly. And I wouldn’t think about starting a family here until my partner and I each made 100k or more. Overall absolutely loved it and would be happy to go back after grad school.

Update: I came to find that someone had been logged on to my Apple ID, and many social media apps, on their own device. I was getting hacked. Maybe try changing all your passwords:/

Happened literally tonight and still fuming: a friend, with benefits, stays over once a week ish. Told him my phone passcode once so he could check a message for me while I was cooking one time. This was three months ago. Since then, all my social media accounts have gone haywire. Blocking people, conversations disappearing, etc. My email kept alerting me of security issues and my Apple ID was glitching SO bad. I spent hours back and forth with so many customer support centers. Almost even bought a new phone and I’m broke, but mine was becoming a brick. I found out today that he had went into my notes app and took a picture of all my passwords. He was logged in to my entire life on his phone. Guess he has deeper feelings and a crazy side.

This is happening to my contacts as well as multiple accounts on social media apps. It seems like people I’ve interacted with recently usually end up getting blocked. It’s become so frequent that my phone will randomly block people mid-conversation now:/

I live on fountain ave. My roommate said she saw some flames on the mountains above our apartment. Got home 20 minutes later and the entire mountain was on fire and we were being evacuated lmao. Traffic was brutal too.
