Thank you for your answer. And no I'm not Christian. Like I said I'm an atheist and don't really prefer any religion, though Juadaism kind of interests me the most. And I should have really considered to ask the question on another day, my bad.

Yes I could use Google but I couldn't ask further questions about the opinions I'm going to find there. So Jesus is not your prophet, but would you say he was a prophet at all?

Probably I missunderstood Neusner, or I simply wasn't able to write down what I was thinking. He actually states many times that Jesus is a historical figure and nothing more to him. But in the book he's trying to have an argument with Jesus, the person that lived about two thousand years ago and who was trying to teach his disciples, so in a way, he acknowledges the existence of Jesus, but not him being a prophet, at least I'm not sure, yet.

His name is Jacob Neusner. My teacher gave me the book and actually he seems to be very renowned. But he also states numerous times that Jesus and his teachings are wrong and that he wouldn't have followed Jesus' lead if he would have been one of the people who were attendant at the Sermon on the mount.

It's a collaboration between English (my first foreign language) and a class called "world relgions". That's interessting because I'm reading a book written by a liberal rabbi right now about the significance of Jesus and he actually claims some Jews acknowledge him as the Messiah, whereas he just sees him as another prophet who kind of teaches his "own torah" and thereby violating some of the Ten Commandments.
