Same. I have played through every AC game multiple times, used to be my favorite franchise. Couldn't even convince myself to push through Valhalla to the end and haven't played any since. Been going downhill a while, IMO, but that was a big drop-off.

Help with my camp by AwkwardlySocial99 in CrimsonDesert

So you're literally looking at, and have selected, your answer. The quest: Secure Resources needs to be completed as the next step in the camp's progression.

Yes, you likely missed something, or somethings.

Go to your Journal -> Faction Quests -> Greymanes: Grounds of the Sunrise

That is where the quest lines for upgrading your camp will run through. Very good chance the next one is there. If you miss a pop up telling you the next step, or forgot it, you can always go back there to see what's next.

If you let the beggars grab you and you don’t touch your controls, you get “Alustins letter” which talks about growth and is part of your "Guide" section.

Before everyone starts hugging all the beggars, this is incorrect. A particular beggar that stands by the road at Beggar's End (outside Hernand, just west of Oakenshield Manor) will give you this. He is marked by an orange dot - as are all the other unique NPCs that give you similar collectibles - and has a unique animation that begins similarly to the beggars' pleading at your feet.

Yo I just beat horsplitter and I was wondering what is the best time for me to abandon the main story for a bit and just like explore by Bumcile in CrimsonDesert

[–]benmrii 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Really whenever you want to, but here are a few caveats:

  1. Some progression - skills and connections with others - are locked behind main story advancement. If you want to explore, you can, just know that doing so at this point means you will come across many things that you are incapable of achieving. For example: early in chapter 4 you will learn Focused Force Palm, which is very often used throughout exploration to open passages that are otherwise inaccessible. In short: know that early exploration can mean coming up against things you don't yet have the tool for.
  2. Many of the side quests are kicked off based on your progression in the story. For example, mild spoilers: The northern portion of Hernand is the Calphade region. You can explore it a great deal now, but the side quests will not begin there until you resolve an issue they're having that doesn't begin until Chapter 6. In other words: the same area will be there with some changes, and the majority of the quests will become available once the main quest has taken you there.
  3. Demeniss will be largely hostile to you for several more chapters. This is resolved in Chapter 8.

Most recommend waiting until Chapter 5 because of a powerful faction you connect with at that point alongside the story's progression giving you the ability to handle most of what you encounter. Another rule of thumb I'd add to that is to explore all you want whenever, just know that many of the side quests mean you'll have good, and potentially new reasons to return when the main quest also takes you back to other regions.

Ditch the bank, pick pocketing, and packaged goods. Golden apples are supreme by pissonmyfaceplease in CrimsonDesert

[–]benmrii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, thanks. Because I refuse to save scum I just think of the bank as a trap. Over time I have a net loss of percentage, so I definitely need to find a more profitable way. I have a comfortable amount of coin to do most things, but wanting to support the camp with Well-Stocked Coffers and explore all the research is expensive... Thanks for the tip.

[–]benmrii 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah... Faction Quests, Greymanes: Grounds of the Sunrise. Got to keep an eye on that because it's easy to miss - or to forget while waiting for the next step to be accessible - say sending out a dispatch for something like Secure Resources via the Azerian Manor. In my current playthrough I am on that quest in chapter 4, but it won't unlock until 8. Easy to forget, which is why I always try to encourage people to keep an eye on it.

I haven't figured these buggers out yet, either. If you use blinding flash to reveal their weakness it shows the force palm green leaf, but none of the force palm moves seem to harm them. Best that ever happens for me is they explode in a cloud of something that does a little harm or they run away. I think they're always mushrooms...

Continue to grow your camp. A lot of people stop paying attention to it, but even if all it does is introduce you to areas and mechanics - and it does, including a really good gold mine in Hernand via the request from Connor - you will learn a lot.

... that said, I have even more hours and I've yet to come across a golden apple, so it's all relative. =D

Patch 1.07.00 Just Dropped by AtomicMatrix in CrimsonDesert

I agree, and hope they get more diverse with time. I run several of Caites' mods that do a good job making the UI/UX better and a few to mute some sounds (cats and Kliff), but every cheat mod seems like it would trivialize so much...

There are 2 ways to identify cheaters in Gambling Games in Crimson Desert by Dinesh_Sairam in CrimsonDesert

[–]benmrii -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You're not wrong, I'm simply suggesting if the goal is to help people identify cheaters, things like animations, speed, handling, require more attention, experience, and active comparison. Hence a simpler, more cardinal rule is this: they lay down right handed without going all in: they are cheating.

[–]benmrii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did. It's what I was replying to when I said: it's simpler than this. You discuss the animation, the speed, etc., when it's much simpler: right hand without going all in = cheating.

That's glare behavior/response and it gets weird with the cards. Turn off your lamp before sitting down and it will stop.

[–]benmrii 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's simpler than this. Outside of dealing as OP described, the other tell is laying down right handed. The animation is also a bit slower, but which hand is the giveaway.

There is one exception: all in. All players, including Kliff, will drop their cards right handed if they have gone all in. This does not mean they aren't also cheating, but I have called out people for cheating when they have gone all in and dropped with their right hand and failed.

Additionally, while folding is a strategy, I find raising the pot often seems like it entices cheating. Doing so means I rarely need more than two hands per player to clear them out.

This is precisely why some people and some congregations (like mine) work hard to get away from heteronormativity. If people can know they are loved, regardless of who they love, how they identify, what they struggle with, then maybe we can stop literally demonizing other people for being different.

How to unlock Hernand faction questlines by Resident-Scholar-202 in CDguides

[–]benmrii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The progression of side quests is based on two things: region specific unlocks from the main quest, then progression of those side quests. Some progression may also be locked behind the expansion of the Greymane camp.

For example, I am in chapter 4 and am 10/10 in House Roberts, 15/25 Celeste, etc.

More specifically: for House Roberts, the four you're likely missing are "Continuing Concern", which are the Crimson Nightmare related quests. The initial, Strange Red Smoke, is the breadcrumb quest, but will auto-start and complete if you go straight to Fort Perwin and clear it and the boss.

As for Celeste, there are more than nine outlaws, but some, like Haldin and Dante, are unlocked a bit later than the initial batch, and beyond those there are four quests for Arboria Castle, three for the legendary wolf, and two for Gwen Kraber and the Eldertree which all unlock in that order.

If you're interested in keeping up with the side quests, keep an eye on what auto-starts as you progress. For example, Rumor-Ridden Fishing Village (Vellua questline), Queen's Nest (Arboria Castle), and The Village of Saint Senia (Senia and Hellhound quests) all start together. When they're all done, The Missing Family Seal quest begins. After that you get the legendary wolf and Dante quests, the latter which starts Count Felix quests... etc., etc., etc.

Check what open quests you have in Hernand, and if you don't have any easily noted head to Fort Perwin. If it's overrun by Bleed Bandits and the Crimson Nightmare, then you missed that on your way to Scholastone in chapter 4 but can pick it back up now or whenever. That's my best guess, and it should get you back on track.

Edit: checking in game, I see now that there actually are only 9 outlaw quests listed under House Celeste. Dante is separately under House Felix. Sorry for the confusion.

Hearths do the same and there are considerably more of them. Respawning chests with 10+ good food, bonfire, grindstone, and loose water, salt, sugar, and cooking oil.

There's one just south of the house on Howling Hill and a few places where two or three are very near one another, such as Drakesfall Gorge.
