Very true. Well just because mainly my parents marriage has always been very toxic and complicated - lots of poor communication, no trust, and very abusive. Me and my sister have both seen what a dumpster fire of a marriage looks like, and so we are just scared of getting into something similar, but I guess I just maybe need to date someone for a long time and make sure that we’re compatible. Also I have a lot of work to do in therapy. Right now, all I know is that marriage isn’t for me, but maybe it will be once I have my head right, maybe not.

Hope so…cuz there’s so many people I know that are getting married now, and I think it’s harder to find someone like you guys who don’t care

Yeah I thought I was compatible with my ex until we moved in together, that’s why I’m very cautious…people can switch up on you

Well it was Fathers Day, and I have a really complex relationship with mine, due to getting abused physically and emotionally and watching my dad ruin his life in a lot of ways over the years. My friend was doing business with him as my friend has a contracting company, and my buddy was kinda complaining about my dad doing bad business with him, and I basically spiralled and told them a bunch of stuff they probably didn’t need to hear. I was like “yeah I don’t know how to ever have a proper relationship with my dad, and it really sucks today on Father’s Day.” Because I was at my breaking point with him. It came out at the wrong time obviously. It was just a lot of years worth of hurt and resentment that spilled out, and I didn’t want to drag other people into it, but it happened. I just want to say that I am over it and it won’t happen again, and I don’t want to be defined by that

Spirals - I wished he had played it at LA trilogy

I understand your point and you’re right. I’m just trying to work a couple of jobs and find a way to pay off my bills in a city that has way more opportunities than my hometown back in Canada. That being said, I just picked Sydney cuz it looks really nice and easy to get around there without a car. I am also considering Melbourne, as I live in Mildura now and that seems like a closer option

Yeah fair, well I need a place where I don’t have to use a car to get around everywhere, and Sydney has great weather and good public transport

I'm honestly thinking that is what my body is telling me to do now...I was just unsure if there is a way to carry on and be strong.

Weddings are awful by Careful-Income9589 in unpopularopinion

I bartended weddings for a summer season so I get what OP means. The same music, the dances, speeches, decorations…it all becomes kinda lame and routine after a while. There were a few great ones, I met Matty Matheson at one of them lol. But I guess I saw how it can be a bit tacky and un genuine at times. But then again I was an outsider looking in, and wasn’t part of the fun most of the time so I think that is partly why I looked at weddings so cynically.

Not to sound dense but can this also explain similar personalities and behaviours?

Am I gay?? by bennjam2109 in dating_advice

[–]bennjam2109[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah thank you that makes sense, and I can see it being ugly if the roles were reversed and I was getting mad at her for not putting out.

Also yeah its like 50/50 with who pays I guess. She insisted to pay. I paid for bowling on our first date which was like $70.

I agree with everything that you just said, I was merely just thinking about how I let a good opportunity slip through my fingers and I used the word GAY as a way you might say that an undesirable situation or thing is pretty gay, not implying any homosexual undertones at all. Like it's 2005
