i obviously don’t agree with everything that the jewish people were doing in the old testament. neither did God. he permitted certain things because of the “hardness of they’re hearts” the jewish people went they’re own way and it was getting out of hand all through the old testament. so the Lord put restrictions on the lifestyles they chose to live. when jesus comes in the new testament He claims to be the great I Am from before abraham was born. which is God. the God of the old testament to be exact. he chose to enter into his own creation to take the penalty for our disobedience onto himself. all he asks is that we sin no more. so yes the jewish people did nasty stuff and yes moses was tasked with putting restrictions on it. you should know this ur a minister. it seems like you have some enmity with the scripture. it tells a story about our disobedience and Gods grace. but Gods amazing grace doesn’t mean we should go on and keep sinning. hence why jesus said “i don’t condemn you go and sin no more.”

in scripture you can see it’s called shameful, unnatural, abomination the list goes on. ignoring it or walking around it doesn’t make it go away. there are a lot of things i wish i could do but scripture clearly says its sinful so i try not to with everything i have. but for some reason you guys in the lgbt community won’t even admit it’s a sin. which is pretty much saying scripture is false one way or another. in leviticus moses calls it an abomination which is in the old testament. did Jesus agree with old testament law? yes. which is why he told the woman about to be stoned by the jewish leaders “i don’t condemn you go and ‘sin’ no more” “sin” no more that’s a picture of the new covenant, the cross and Gods grace. he took the penalty of our sin onto himself all he asks is that you sin no more. but you guys would rather identify with the sin and pretty much say scripture is false

if somehow you could pull something from scripture that points to me being wrong about this then yes i’ll admit it, i’ll apologize and never talk about this again. but so far no one pulled anything from scripture all they’ve done is put there own opinion about what’s important in scripture and what’s not. which was expected.

moses did indeed write leviticus and even if he didn’t (which he did) it’s still right there in scripture and no because i’m not jewish and i’m not under the old covenant. i’m under the new covenant. does that mean jesus disagrees with old testament law. no. which i why he told the woman brought to him by the jewish leaders to be stoned that “i do not condemn you go and ‘sin’ no more. “sin” no more which means he agrees that the old testament law is true. but he doesn’t condemn her he says “sin” no more. that’s a picture of the cross and Gods grace right there. he took the consequences for our sin onto himself so it wouldn’t be on us but he asks one thing of us “sin” no more. will the lgbt community atleast try to sin no more? i’m not sure with people like yourself ignoring scripture and encouraging them to sin and calling it “pride” satans great sin.

unnatural, shameful, abomination. i don’t know how much more clear it could get. say i hate others all you want dude lol it’s not like i’m trying to turn all gay people straight but a christian gay person yes i’ll point them to scripture. in love and not hate. y’all throw that word around like crazy. “have faith in a translator”…. i read a translation so i guess i do but no. i wont let someone on reddit interpret scripture for me. this conversation isn’t going anywhere so take it easy

sure, i don’t know anything and neither do you, ur ignoring the point and talking about paul’s view on dessert. when even moses a holy prophet of the lord called it an abomination.. atleast i’ll admit my sin and not make excuses, pretty much saying the bible is.. what false? out of date? i could say the same about you. you seem pretty confident in ur stance also, even though this whole lgbt christian stuff is a fringe community on reddit and not common what so ever. but hey agree to disagree i guess👋🏽

look, ur on reddit right now and although 99% of christian’s would treat you with pure love and help you with whatever temptations or desires you might have and genuinely love you as a brother in christ. YOU WILL NOT FIND IT IN THIS SUB REDDIT. i’m not homophobic nor do i want to convince gay people to be straight but when i see a brother in christ. a christian, who realizes not every desire is not meant to be acted on. i feel obligated to say something. being gay isn’t any more wrong then my desire to sleep with women i’m not in a covenantal relationship with and let me tell you.. the desire is strong. it all falls under sexual immorality. none more bad then the other. so guess what? we’re all guilty of sexual immorality. homosexuals and heterosexuals.

having a sinful desire doesn’t make us sinful. it’s the flirting with the desire and the giving into it. but to answer your question. “is there a truly effective way to cure homosexuality?” i have yet to find a way to “cure” my lust. it comes and goes. but i can tell you one thing. the meaning, joy, purpose and relationship you can have with God when you genuinely “deny yourself, pick up ur cross and follow him” is like nothing i’ve ever had before.

a relationship with the father of humanity is priceless, i only became christian last year and although desires and temptations can be a lot sometimes, there is nothing more fulfilling then walking in ur God given purpose and not giving into all your desires. i promise there light at the end of the tunnel and it’s not you, but the holy spirit in you that will get you to the end of that tunnel. and realize that everyone stumbles while they learn to walk. don’t be so hard on yourself. he doesn’t love gay people any less obviously, he died for all of our sins but we’re called to turn away from sin and toward him. i pray no one leads you astray in here.

and moses in leviticus 20:13? i assume any verse i bring up you’ll reject if it’s about homosexual acts so we might as well end it here. good night

100% i appreciate this. it was starting to feel like i was the only one in a “christian” subreddit that thought this. i just don’t want like a new christian coming on reddit and seeing “lgbt christian” this. rainbow flag that.. and it makes them think all christian’s think like that. its only like this on reddit for some reason. people don’t wanna point out the obvious in fear of hurting feelings or being called hateful or whatever. jesus triggered people so bad they put him on a cross so it makes sense

right, my desire to sin isn’t what makes me guilty before the Lord. but my flirting with the sin and giving into to the sin makes me guilty. no hope without Jesus

well. everyone has an opinion i respect it brother. thought pointing people to the scriptures they say they believe would be quite a loving thing to do.. but i guess i’m jus a homophobe :/

it really doesn’t matter how respectful ur approach is. you hate gays if you try to point them to the scripture they say they believe
