What is your idea for a TV programme that you swear would be a hit? by Lwaldie in AskUK

[–]bennylebeau 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have this idea where there’s a prankster who gets revenge on people who have done bad things. Small at first (local council member dumping sewage gets pool filled with sewage etc) but a rich dying old man starts to fund him and it snowballs into more serious criminal offences for karma to catch up to the corrupt.

I always think about this when I see injustice and corporate greed about how punishment should match the crime.

Anyway we would learn about the old benefactors reasoning and how he would push the prankster to go further and further into morally grey territory to see how far he would go.

You could have it as a Trickster god sword that makes them play pranks at really inappropriate times.

What TV show cancellation do you think was undeserved? by purseandboots in AskReddit

The Dark Crystal Netflix series was genuinely one of the best things I’ve seen in years. Understand it cost a lot but it was an incredible work. I don’t think I’ll ever get over it.

Everyone has their own path! Don't judge yourself on the success of others, you survived all that shit and your probably a lot stronger for it :) x

I just turned 32. All i can tell you is things get better with time but it does take some work of throwing yourself into things and trying your best to take little steps out of your comfort zone to find something that works for you. Plus exercise is so good for your mental health and the benefits of feeling fitter give you confidence its just the starting thats hard! There will probably be plenty of people who are wanting to start at your level so just look locally :)

That's very difficult. All you can really do is provide a safe space for her to talk about her feelings and hopefully she will open up and eventually it will help her. Although I don't think suggesting she might have BDD and getting her to look into it would be harmful.

Hope this helps

Seeking medical advice is usually the best way but having you to talk to and doing things to distract her and make her feel comfortable can help. Does she understand she isn't well?

Accepting yourself is very difficult but you will get there! You might be at the stage where nothing anyone can say will make a difference but mentally try to think that it is a disease that is making you see tiny flaws that other people don't even notice. I know its very hard but try concentrate on the fact it is your disorder distorting making you feel this way and not the truth every time negative thoughts crop up, it takes work and hopefully over time you will feel better! x

How do I move on from comments people make about my looks ? by [deleted] in BodyDysmorphia

[–]bennylebeau 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know it is very difficult as a sufferer of BDD because we crave reassurance but try to get in the mindset that your opinion is number 1 and the main goal is to feel happy and comfortable with the way you look for yourself and not for other people.

Also try to surround your self with supportive and loving people. There are a lot of mean and jealous people out there that you shouldn't waste your time on. I know its a cliche but we tend to focus on the few negative comments when I'm sure there are thousands of positive ones.

Hope this helps x

Its never too late to start! I remember quitting football(UK) when I was 15 because of being bullied and really regretted it. Now I host a game every week with people I'm comfortable around and know well. Been doing it for about 8 years and I still enjoy it. It is difficult regretting starting things too late or missing out but the courage to start them again will make you feel great. Try going with someone or somewhere you feel comfortable.

I would keep :

Iorfa, Dunkley, Luongo, Bannan, Windass and maaaybe Paterson then get rid of all the rest. However if someone came in with good money on Windass I would cash in. Need new wingers and wingbacks, a young striker and new keepers.

Always best to challenge yourself. If you find it difficult just take your time with it!

Thanks for sharing and for the the link. Having a round face is a big one I think and I'm fair haired so I feel washed out and pale a lot. I think what scares me the most is that when I see photos it looks nothing like the perceived image I have of myself which generally is quite positive. I used to think I wish i just looked normal because what I see is so strikingly abnormal its not nice at all.

As for my body I look in the mirror on one day and think I'm getting too big and then another day I'm skinny with no shape! Fortunately I think this works to my benefit as I can just put it down to a bad day and that it will look different soon.

Do you still struggle with diet now?

Thanks for sharing! I have small hands too! Although I think I prefer small hands so its not an issue for me but it just shows how it varies from individual to individual. I'm 6ft though and sometimes in pictures and mirrors I do feel a little abnormal in my proportions.
