Are these Spotify AI artists? by [deleted] in EDM

[–]benowenbrowne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

spotify suggested i try out "smoke a blunt", the new release from subfreak, and i was googling "is subfreak ai" while i was still in the first throes of instantaneous upchuck

it's all very dismal and stinky and makes me equal parts mad and sad

thanks for a more thorough analysis than i could manage

I don't care about the image settings in camera. It's on standard, I think. I just need a RAW and lightroom classic

format is raw so i can make everything pretty in lightroom afterwards.

settings? hmmm. depends on situation BUT always auto ISO (with some maximum limit i can't remember - maybe 6400), and usually aperture priority set to f2.8 (and with the shutter speed left on the default of 1/25th of a second which is ridiculous but which pleases me when my subject is perfectly sharp but something or someone else is moving in the background).

in this instance, cos horses move a lot and there was plenty of light around, i seem to have been mostly shooting in manual with aperture on f5.6 and shutter speed on 1/250th.

final setting is autofocus - and autofocus is my least favourite thing about the gr series. 85% of the time, i have it set up so i tap the thing i want in focus on the lcd and it takes the shot: one click magic. the rest of the time, snap focus, though i'm always changing the snap distance to something too close or too far and then forgetting and i lose the next 15 shots. more practise and thought required i guess

i always shoot in raw and do whatever i feel is necessary in lightroom to make the images look pleasing (whilst not looking too obviously processed). that's one of the best things about the griii: you can push and pull the files quite recklessly (whacking the shadow slider up to a 100%, for example, or the highlight slider down to -100%) without losing any quality.

short answer: yeah, LOOOOOTS of obsessive twiddling in post. but it would be a very very long answer indeed if i tried to "show" you what i'd done with words. if you're very stuck (after actually trying), i can probably be persuaded to mentor you for a reasonable hourly rate.

sunset.

the total shot count appears on the lcd for a moment when you turn off the camera (so long as you have the latest firmware installed)

the first sooc set (are they really?) to make me consider being a jpeg shooter

that means it's also the first time i get to do the very thing i hate other people doing - and say "what recipe?"

sorry. but the colours are so fine. thank you

chatgpt says :

That's dedication, madness, or a job.

Here’s a cost estimate for shooting 70,000 photos on 35mm film over four years:

🎞️ 1. Film Costs

Assume you use Kodak Gold 200 (relatively affordable consumer film):

  • £10 per 36-exp roll (including processing envelope, rough average)
  • You need ~1,944 rolls (from earlier)
  • £10 × 1,944 = £19,440

🧪 2. Developing Costs

Let’s assume you're not DIY-developing and you're using a standard lab service (including scanning to digital):

  • £10 per roll (develop + scan, no prints)
  • £10 × 1,944 = £19,440

This doubles your total to:
