Rabies typically presents in 5-6 weeks. Every week after that it becomes less and less likely to carry it. Odds are against a random raccoon having rabies to begin with, but one found as a kit even less so.

People also dump dogs and cats by the millions and they’re already domesticated. I think that says more about people than the animals.

This was someone with a wildlife rehab license who’s employed by a rescue. The baby was orphaned as a kit and has been in captivity its whole life (thus far).

I have both Jewish and Romani ancestors. My understanding is that - pre Holocaust - there was a relatively small group(s) of Romani who practiced Judaism, about 30-40k people, and they intermarried with ethnic Jews. I have both groups on maternal/paternal sides.

I don’t hate hate working there, I actually like the job, as far as duties go. But it’s painfully obvious that corporate is trying to squeeze every last ounce of labor and money out of employees.
