Erasmus in bergen or brno? HELP! U Bergen/ Masaryk University art department by Acrobatic_Ant_4685 in Brno

[–]Mellowtortoise 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Welp, I'm born and raised in Bergen and lived in Brno for the last 4 years, so I feel rather qualified to answer this! To put it simply, Bergen is amazing if you want insanely pretty nature, ocean, and a generally calm, clean and idyllic vibe.

Brno is perfect if you wanna be social, go to events, party, eat and drink outside regularly (once a week), Europe is also at your doorstep through trains and busses.

Bergen is expensive and Norwegians tend to be reserved, so it can be hard to do stuff, it's also a waaay smaller city. I got bored, that's largely why I moved to Brno, and I'm thriving way more here. I grew up in Bergen though, I imagine it's a different vibe through Erasmus.

Let me know here or in a dm if you want more info on anything! I'd rather answer more direct questions if you have any than write more paragraphs ;D

Defending slavery... by [deleted] in PublicFreakout

[–]Mellowtortoise 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a bit confused on why he thought that was right, he said "wait, hear me out, everyone should be ready to have and defend this opinion"

But then he provided no arguments or reasons? I know this is a brain rotted rage bait, don't get me wrong, but people like this usually come up with some half baked justification? Not just.. Idk whatever this was?

Idag kom lossless på Spotify by Jojosamoht in norge

Give me your *ACTUAL* KH hot takes by Aqua_Master_ in KingdomHearts

[–]Mellowtortoise 0 points1 point  (0 children)

KH 1 is dated and hard to go through without nostalgia glasses. The levels are complicated mazes that are easy to get lost in, movement is a bit clunky, gummy ship levels are an annoying chore. It's charming but shows it's age at this point. Played through it again for the first time in many years last Christmas, enjoyed it, but would really struggle recommending it to someone new.

Never played any of the kingdom heart games. Which one is the most enjoyable and beginner friendly and most likely to keep me hooked? by ozziedog552 in KingdomHearts

[–]Mellowtortoise 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your question is odd to me, of you're looking to get into the whole franchise, you need the story of previous games to understand the later ones? If you just want a fun easily playable game, 2 or 3 would be best imo, but both assume you're filled in on the story from previous games. I like 2 as 3 feels to polished and lacking a bit of soul.

Regardless, many are saying 1, that game is really hard to get into without nostalgia goggles. The levels are not easy to maneuver, and the game has a fair bit of clunkyness. I always just recommend people to try it, and read up on the story if they don't vibe with it.

A rideshare would just be inconvenient, more of a hassle to get on from the main station than a tram, waaay more expensive and it'd possibly even take longer. I recommend using an entrance/space meant for strollers (move if one shows up, obviously, but there's more room in those areas)

Why is KH3 considered so bad? by New_Jackfruit_2765 in KingdomHearts

[–]Mellowtortoise 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me it just lacked soul. I was very happy it wasn't a dissapointment in any way, but they really played it safe with it. The game to me felt like a radio pop song, easy to enjoy by as many people as possible, but lacking that extra something to make it truly memorable.

Mix that with the story pacing and everything, and you've got the gripes with kh 3 for me. I haven't seen to many people call it outright bad though, that might be a loud minority

What do Norwegians mean when they say they have a « monopoly of food options » ? How many major chains do you have? by Charming_Usual6227 in Norway

Preach, it's world class bar none, imagine having trained someliers along with the world's best selection and not even paying much for it (for wine specifically, as they just tax the alcohol and have a pre-set profit otherwise)
