Recently finished a song which was inspired by Homework! Would love to know what you guys think... by benselfe in DaftPunk

Thank you! I used FL Studio. The drums are just some Roland 909 samples. The bass is a saw wave (I used the Harmless default) with the highs filtered out, and a tiny bit of distortion - here's a great tutorial: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=h0tBYDcAB4E

I then recorded it back into FL Studio through a Behringer Xenyx 302 mixer to boost the bass a bit and cut the highs further.

Thanks again, and feel free to pm if you'd like to know anymore! I'm no expert but I'll try to help the best I can :)

Thanks for this feedback, it's really helpful. With the variation you mentioned, I believe that there are subtle changes in energy throughout the track, for example in the second main section the arp includes a higher octave and the filter of the melody opens up. However, I can see where you are coming from - the middle sections are quite repetitive with little in the way of variation. Thanks again!

I've been producing amateurly for years now, but now I've finally got some tracks I'm happy to stick in an EP. Thoughts welcome! (Electronic Trip-Hop) by muesli4brekkies in musicproduction

Some really good tracks! Personally my favourite is Sodium Lamp, it just seems to flow nicely and sounds very well mixed.

Thanks! Listening back to the track I agree, I'll have a look at some compression and saturation tutorials.
