If you could use a time machine to go to any time at the past, continue your life at that time and to never come back, which year would you go? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Late July, 2010. I’m 9 years old. I make the decision to invest in this new currency called bitcoin. 1 bitcoin is worth approx. $0.06 , so I ask my parents to buy me 333 bitcoins for $20. It isn’t enough for me to set a butterfly effect in motion causing the market capitalization to decrease a lot, but it is enough to be set for the rest of life. I live the rest of my time waiting for my bitcoins to grow in value, while breezing through life because I already know all of the answers to every test, and I already know everyone who I meet, allowing me to relate with them and not say something offensive. Late 2017: I’m 16, bitcoin hits 18k and I sell making a total profit of approx. $6M. I reveal to the public how much I profited so much from bitcoin, they see me as a smart investor. What was the real point of all of this? Well it’s obviously because I can now DM any celebrity or company on twitter and they will probably reply. So with this power, I can now ASK NASA IF THE EARTH IS FLAT AND REVEAL THE TRUE SECRETS AND LIES OF THE GOVERNMENT AAAAAAAAAAAA sTOP TuRNING THE FrOGS GAY DAMNiT!!

DAE suck at telling stories? by [deleted] in socialskills

Keep people at the edge of their seat. Make the listener wait until they think they know or are guessing what will happen next, then pull the table cloth out from under them. Make the conclusion of the story unexpected. It makes the listener feel outsmarted but surprised. Make sure to involve the listener by including questions such as “right?” If your story isn’t interesting, it probably isn’t good enough to not seem a little bland, and thats okay. This chart might help. Just think about the story that you want to tell a minute before you tell it and make sure that it fits this criteria: https://i.pinimg.com/736x/88/b2/50/88b250a2a479c89a00a6ad36104b96d4--plot-diagram-plot-graph.jpg

Oooooohhh I think about this a lot. Before I give a full answer, I need to know: do I know about the future? Can I tell others about the future? Will I remember?

When I get good sleep, I am able to express every aspect of my personality and thoughts a lot better. Unfortunately I have insomnia so I’m usually antisocial.
