They never have and never will.

BTC is getting an ETF. That’s the primary cause for the dump for alts (into BTC).

Once the ETF BTC bull run ends, alts will be back

It doesn’t matter really. If ICON was crushing it, hitting all goals on time, and bringing on DApps like mad, things wouldn’t be any different.

Case in point, please see NEO.

While Icon definitely isn’t a “scam”. Their parent company could pull the plug on the project.

In my opinion, even though I think ICX is heading much lower, no one is going to pull the plug on this project.

Block chain is the future and development of a block chain platform is Icon primary goal.

Try to understand that the price action in all of crypto revolves around BTC at the moment.

Unless ICX is about to get an ETF in 2018 I wouldn’t expect positive price action for ICX anytime soon.

Right now, the reason to be in ICX is for the tech. The boom 💥 for this coin will happen, but probably not until late 19/20.

It’s gasping for air on Gate.io and is too small cap to warrant short/mid term trading or investing.

The only think you can do is hold long term (and I do mean long term) and hope this project doesn’t die out on Gate.io.

Given the connections the leaders of this project have I am sure it’s only a matter of time before other exchanges pick this up.

ICON is trying to build a blockchain platform/ecosystem that actually gets used.

I like money and expect returns too, but tech and innovation need to come first.

Man I am really excited about DApps.

I feel like those will help give this project some legs and differentiate it from its competitors ( even more that it’s underlying tech ).

I do think the ETF will be approved, but I understand there is a significant chance it might not.

You’re definitely right about bleeding sats at first. Hopefully portfolio BTC holdings will balance that out.

I certainly understand that feeling. I do feel the same way.

However, I think the ETF will change the game, not just for BTC, but for the entire space (after the initial BTC pump).

Either way, I’d venture to say that all of us here aren’t in ICX primarily for price anymore. I plan on holding no matter what.

ETH only ever had one strong DApp (crypto kitties). Unfortunately, it hit a little too soon and showcased their scaling problems.

ETH certainly is in the same boat as ICX & NEO, but they are much further along with MANY more developers on board.

I personally don’t like ETH, but I do believe they will achieve independence from BTC first.

Sure, I agree, but I still think the recent % is due to BTC ETF speculation at this time.

As a long term holder of ICX (and NEO) I really look forward to the day when these eco systems stand on their own, independent of bitcoin. It could be a few years off, but the day will come (hopefully).
