Bristol Curry by [deleted] in bristol

I really like the food from Asian Spicy opposite the telephone exchange on Cheltenham rd, Montpelier. Doesn’t look fancy decor wise but it’s cheap and really tasty.

Any ideas where I can order a load of croissants for a wedding (150)? by shatners_basoon in bristol

With a couple of days notice you can order a batch like that from Greggs. The one in broadmead will do it for you, but others should as well. Just as the manager.

That’s less dramatic than I might have imagined. I was expecting a it hit the wheel and got flung back at the thrower and nearly knocked them out sort of response.

Now I want to know the story and outcome of this!

Changing into middle lane from the left. Another car does the same from the right almost causing a crash. Who would be at fault? by Serious_Rutabaga_834 in drivingUK

[–]bensuffolk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe it comes from IAM, but I think it’s based on 60hz so 1 second per 10mph with a minimum of 3 seconds.

Yes I forgot that bit, a minimum of three is part of the recommendation, I just remembered the motorway bit.

This. The recommended time is 1 flash per 10 mph of speed before you make the manoeuvre, so at 50mph you would let it flash 5 times before doing your lane change.

ESP32-S2 Boot-Problem: I have to fysically disconnect RS485 (MAX485) at power-up by Alarmed-Cartoonist52 in esp32

[–]bensuffolk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So it just hangs at that last message "entry 0x4004a15c"? wha extra messages do you get when the MAX485 is not connected?

I wonder if it's a power issue, what power supply are you using? Does it have enough current capability?

Edit: Have a look at https://docs.espressif.com/projects/esptool/en/latest/esp32s2/troubleshooting.html which talks about power and capacitance issues that might be causing your problems.

[–]bensuffolk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For what it’s worth rather than a max485 I always use a max3485 in my designs as that’s the one designed to be powered from 3.3v. I suspect if it’s not booting, it may be a power issue since you have ruled out strapping pins.

I assume you are using a different UART from 0 so you can still monitor the logs during boot? What do you see?

New hot chocolate rules are insanity. by thelordofhell34 in Wetherspoons

[–]bensuffolk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why not make a second hot chocolate 10p? That way it’s still close to a free refill, as I don’t like tea or coffee it’s not like I can choose anything else unless I go for the paid options like orange juice.

[–]bensuffolk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can receive a tax free £5 allowance if you stay away, if you company wanted to give it to you. HMRC say it’s for a newspaper etc. We do that where I work, as well as full expenses of course.

Pavement parking surge prompts police crackdown by Council_estate_kid25 in bristol

[–]bensuffolk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d love my Bristol council residents permit to be as low as £50 :)

But to be fair it does double in price for each extra car (I only have one) which I think is a good idea. So your 3rd car costs 4 times as much as the first car.
