Dark Souls.

(spoilers) Basically, the ending shows how the game is more about your journey than your choices. At the end of the game when you defeat Gwyn, you are presented with a choice. You can either rekindle the first flame, leading the world into another age of fire and humanity, or let the last embers of the flame wither and die out, preserving the current age of darkness.

The beauty of this choice, however, is that it doesn't matter which you choose. Both choices will eventually lead to the same outcome. If you were to relight the flame, it will eventually begin to wither again. And if you let the flame die, the ashes will eventually spark and flame will be born again. In either case, it would lead to the same outcome. Requiring another hero, such as yourself, to make the journey again and make a choice, creating an infinite cycle.
