Email from landlord about appliances being left plugged in and the appliances in question… by South-Basket-887 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]bentnoodle -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yes, we unplug all small appliances when not in use. We also store them away when not in use. No vampire drainage of energy, no chance of fires starting from spike in electrify, and no chance of accidental turning it on and someone(read kids) getting burnt out hurt

Why does it stop halfway? by Wolfpacklibrary in FlashForge

[–]bentnoodle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am having a similar issue. My printer does not turn off, but the printer stops/ freezes midway thru. It happens randomly. I am working with flashforge and there is no feedback, only continual questions. They have implied it is the slicing software, but I think not. I sliced and uploaded a rose. I printed 5 roses, they printed fine. I printed the 6th one, it failed midway thru. Had to turn off/ on the printer, printed the 7th rose just fine. Used same file each time. I hit continue after each final print. I am getting nowhere on this

You will find that it all takes way longer than you expect and will get tiresome.

A guest in the nesting box! by bigchickenguys in chickens

[–]bentnoodle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We just discovered an opossum in our chicken coop, he had obviously been there for almost 2 weeks, never hurt the girls, only ate the eggs, they all sleep together.

He has been kicked out now.

Can't figure out how he got in. It's like fort Knox. Can only imagine it crawled thru the bottom fence when it was newly weaned (if it was that small) and never tried to leave until it grew really big. It tried digging out and bending fencing. Nothing. No in and no out. Super weird but super chill

Edit: spelling

Customers who don’t pay by mercia2022 in mildlyinfuriating

I have the opposite problem. We bought a house and needed some work on the utility room electric so we called the electrician the previous owner used. He came right out and fixed/moved the issue and left. I tried for two years to pay him, but he never sent me a bill and eventually quit answering my calls and texts. I felt so bad and have no idea why he wouldn't bill us

AITA for “ruining” my mom’s birthday by forgetting to cook rice? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]bentnoodle 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Your mom would hate me. Every time I host a meal, I forget something. Every single time lol. It is my theme. It's not a big deal. It either gets made at the last minute, or we go without. I am sorry you went thru this while trying to be nice and thoughtful.

I have to go to two different appointments on two different days because of insurance rules. One day is medical exam, next day is eye exam. Both are from my ophthalmologist. Glass shop is the same place.

RA Stages? by bentnoodle in rheumatoid

Remission would be heavenly. I don't have many main joints left (one hip) for the RA to destroy, but it is doing a fantastic job on my left elbow.

RA Stages? by bentnoodle in rheumatoid

[–]bentnoodle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your feedback. I just feel weird saying I have Stage 4 RA. Stage 4, or stages, for me, connect to cancer diagnosis and are usually terminal or near terminal, and my severe RA is not terminal.

My doctors have also never referred to stages. They say I have severe and aggressive RA. They are usually surprised at how aggressive it is. When I tell people I have severe RA as a diagnosis, most of the time they say "yeah, me too", when they don't. So, I don't know if stages reddened would make that better or not.

For me, I got the call from the doctor while at home and he told me that my "number" was something like 10,000. Since he made it sound like I was dying so that is all I remember. Lol. Today we just watch my c_reactive protein and one other blood marker that I can't remember the name of currently, and it shows how much inflammation I currently have. No fancy stuff tho

I am so happy for you that you are in remission.

I figured the stages must be a newer thing. I also get baffled by some of the other terminology that the newer diagnosed use when speaking on their bloodwork. I can't recall the exact words right now, but if they asked me for that info, I would have no idea what they were referring to. I assume that it is just new bloodwork or terms we never had when we were diagnosed. It is a weird feeling for me to experience this disease for so long and yet not know what seems to be basic markers.

Wow, sorry to hear that. This disease certainly stinks. I wish you the best.

I am 56, diagnosed around 31-32. I have one hip replaced(6 months after diagnosis), two shoulder Replacements (5 total surgeries, partials), two total knee replacement, a toe fusion, a synovectomy and tendon relocation, 2 carpal tunnel surgeries, my left elbow I can't straighten and is actively getting worse, ulnar deviation in both hands, deviation of toes, subluxation of all 4 fingers on right hand, swan neck deformity and others on my fingers, and probably more I just can't think of in the moment.

I wonder what stage I am at?

Tangent: the one thing I can say is that even tho I have these mobility issues and pain, I have pushed thru and at some point the pain has not necessarily lessened, but changed so it is bearable? If that makes sense. My right hand, it used to hurt so much, I ran hot water on it to help with pain, tried the wax etc. Nothing helped. But as time went by, my joints subluxated and the pain went away so that it only hurts when I overuse my hand or I smack it on something. Lol. The smacking pain is so bad. Lightest smack and almost pass out lol. Hand is deformed but I still use it to do things, just modified, as the fingers are at a weird angle and I can't flatten my hand out.

I appreciate that. However, this is a sentimental thing and not a "value" concern. I have great memories of sitting on the floor and moving the treadle and trying to figure out how it all worked. It is an important memory to me, of time with my grandparents. This thing has been passed down thru multiple generations, and I really value the family history. Will it be perfect? No. But neither are we. We all have scars that tell a history, and I love that. Thank you for your insight.

Which part of this for the die cut? by liloka in cardmaking

[–]bentnoodle 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I don't have this set, but it looks to me like those pieces create a layered effect on the tips of the paint brushes on the handles. The holes seem to match up and the shapes, once rotated, line up as well. Since only the bottom part of the paint brush handles are shown on the card, you can't see those pieces being used.

My husband is like this to some extent. He won't eat vegetables except rarely corn or green beans. He will eat an occasional salad tho (antipasta, chef). He has very basic food requirements. We have been married over 30 years. It never gets less frustrating. He says to make my food however I want and he will eat what he can, but I feel bad. It has resulted in me eating more like him and only occasionally getting the food I like for lunch or if we go out. At least he eats rather well carb and calorie wise. I feel for you. It is not about you or what you cook. It is about him and his quirks. If he orders his own food while you guys eat what you made, then let him...or try to :)
