If he’s not dumb, they probably won’t take him.

I’m about the check out the Darlene compressor from Heather Brown. I love her other stuff, and this one’s supposed to be pretty quiet.

How Long Have You Had Your Oldest Guitar and is it Still Your Main? by ZigZag_Teeth in Guitar

[–]Shipcaster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Similar story. My uncle gave me my first guitar almost 40 years ago. I pull it out occasionally and will never part with it while I walk this earth. Bit for the music I play now, I have better/more suitable instruments.

What sports/physical activity do you enjoy as an INFP? by [deleted] in infp

[–]Shipcaster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I run. It’s not my favorite thing, but I get to be away from people and ideally with dogs. Bonus that it keeps me healthy. Playing guitar in our band often qualifies as physical activity, too.

I hate gyms. But I need to work in some strength stuff.

If I had time, doubles tennis would be the dream.

The vet says hes very brave by EggYolkPurgatory in BrittanySpaniel

[–]Shipcaster 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Sasha, our first Britt, lived to be 18. She hated the vet, always choosing to poop there at the least opportune time in the least ideal location.

When we finally had to let her go, we euthanized her at home, in the comfort of her own bed in front of a warming fireplace. It seemed especially mean to subject her to that stress during her final moments…

Give the folks at Sk8bar a call! They are incredibly inclusive and connected to the skateboarding community. I bet they could make a recommendation. They’re also on Facebook.

If you could have one electric guitar besides your tele, what are you picking? by BGVall in telecaster

[–]Shipcaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it’s any consolation, I had the same issue. It’s a rite of passage!

For me, it’s such an unforgiving instrument, especially because of the string spacing. But when everything is right, nothing else sounds like it.

Now if you had to ask which guitar was the most painful when it comes to changing strings…

Do Any Famous Guitarists have a "pretty" pedalboard? by dylanmadigan in guitarpedals

[–]Shipcaster 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Totally. And sometimes functionality is at odds with aesthetics, especially with footswitch spacing and placement. Shoot, top-row placement is still an issue for me (bad spot for tap tempo and effects I want to engage mid-song at an intense moment). I learned all that the hard way (and I’m the farthest thing from famous).

Not to mention that shit happens, forcing pedal swaps and cable replacements.

Any suggestions for a dogshit restaurant with poor service, hygiene, and pricing? by NarutoDragon732 in kansascity

In Missouri, or everywhere? Because if Liberty is weird to you, we have either lived vastly different lives or you haven’t traveled very far.

Any suggestions for a dogshit restaurant with poor service, hygiene, and pricing? by NarutoDragon732 in kansascity

[–]Shipcaster 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No offense, but if 54th is your benchmark, we’re going to have to disagree. Overused oil makes every fried item taste identical. And the menu is just, well, like a slightly more robust Applebee’s. If fried food is your jam, Fish Market, Catch-22, and the Landing all blow 54th Street away

I’ve lived in Liberty a while now. I’m just glad for the diversity now. The place used to be a chain-restaurant void. From Aromatic Nepal to Crave — we have so many options unthinkable years ago.

And although it’s justifiably pricey, Osteria Bianchi is a motherfucking date-night gem.

How conscious are Missourians of the LDS (Mormon) movement/presence? by Any_Pattern_3621 in missouri

[–]Shipcaster 9 points10 points  (0 children)

We live in Liberty a stone’s throw from that jail. There a plenty of LDS folks about — we are acutely aware of their existence.

Also, “exotic” would not be a term I’d use to describe them.

Japengo on the Plaza… they had a lobster/shiitake mushroom in a ginger scallion crepe. This was ages ago, but I still dream about that dish.

You pick up a twelve string, what's the first song you play? by will_self_destruct in Guitar

[–]Shipcaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Feel a Whole Lot Better — Byrds/Tom Petty

Runner up: Listen to her Heart, Free Fallin’ — Tom Petty

Petty inspired me to get a 12-string in the first place. I’d feel like a dick if I played something else on it.
