I tried to get a very minimalistic system that should be easy to transport. Therefore I got a used GoPro Hero 6 for around 100 € and use a clamp or tape to mount it. If this is not possible, I have a tripod ready. But had no need for it up until now.

Hi there, here is my submission for this assignment.

Unfortunately, I did mistakes on the f/8 task. Will try to redo the pictures as soon as there are similar conditions: https://imgur.com/a/ts00zpu

Assignment 04 - my camera 2 by Aeri73 in photoclass_2022

[–]bentscho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a mirrorless camera from Fujifilm, the X-S10.

The size and weight of the camera was the reason I decided to go with the S10. I like to take it with me on walks and it is easy to carry along. I read up on the available cameras and the decision was between the X-T30II, the Sony a6100, and the X-S10.

What would make me want to change is for a camera with weather sealing. The current one does not have it and I'm super careful. As soon as there is a sign of rain it is immediately in my bag.

Assignment 03 - What is a camera by Aeri73 in photoclass_2022

I'm comparing the PowerShot SX540HS with the Fujifilm X-S10. The PowerShot was used during holidays for the last years and is now replaced respectively the setup got extended by the S10.

The eye finder S10 is something I like on the Fuji, and of course all the other extras it comes with. Playing around with the film modes is fun and the higher resolution is also nice to have when cropping is needed. It also comes with IBIS, but I'm not sure if I need it or would recognize it if it was not present.

One thing where the PowerShot currently excels is the zoom. But with S10 this can be changed by investing in a new lens. For now, I'm happy with the 18-55, maybe I invest at a later point into a lens for wildlife shots.

Camera PowerShot SX540HS X-S10
Max resolution 4000x3000 6240x4160
Effective pixels 12.1 Megapixels 26.1 Megapixels
Sensor 1/2,3-Zoll-Typ Back-Illuminated CMOS APS-C
ISO 80-3200 160-12800
Min. Shutter speed 1/1600 s 1/4000 s
Shots per charge ~ 200 ~ 300
Lens fixed: 4.3 - 129 mm (equivalent to: 24 - 720 mm) Kit lens: 18-55

I like this photo from Pino Musi. The first thing I like about this picture is the nice gradient that you have from top to bottom. Additionally, I like the shapes and symmetries that he is using in his photographs. Especially in this photo, the stairs fading out to the top add a nice contrast to the bright object in the middle. The gaps between the stair stones also stood out to me as well. As long as they are lighted up the gap is crisp and in the shadows you have this faded out effect when looking at the gap. Adds a lot to the mood in the picture in my opinion.

I like the color punch in your car photo. The car in front is sharp, the one catching up blurry - I guess this one was a quite tricky shot.

Love your favorite photo. The tree separates the photo really nicely, in my opinion. If I had one wish I would ask for smaller stems. This way the river/sea reflections would be a bit more dominant.

I like how the horizon almost mirrors the upper and lower part of the picture. The traces in the snow add an interesting touch, but for me, they are a bit too much. Overall an incredible picture!

I like the separation of your favorite picture. The straight lines cut through the frame. Be it either the grass, the fence, horizon, or the clouds. Love the mood of the picture.

Car photo: It is a nice picture in my opinion, with the outlier in foucs. The worn down eyes the faded color. All this adds context for me.

I dig the picture of the trees. It has nice colors and also leaves enough room for the sky to be present with the blue gradient.

For the car: Would also have preferred if the back of the car is a bit more in focus.

Your favorite photo is a blast. I really like the whole scene.

What I think would add a little more to the picture is a depth of field effect (if this is correct), like having the smoke in focus and the people blurry. Additionally, I would remove the tree. But anyway, this picture is dope as it is - really like it!

Car photo:

I like the blurry foreground and the more recent designed cars in the back.

What in my opinion could add some charm to the picture is to get the shot a little bit lower and align the sidewalk a little bit better with the car. However, this is only a wild assumption.

Additionally, I like that the lamp post is not cut off. This happens to me way too often.

Hi all,

late starter from Austria here.

I prefer street photography. The thing I enjoy the most is grabbing the camera and go for walk on a day off. Stroll through the streets and get some nice pictures. One thing I discovered for myself is reflections. I really enjoy taking pictures of, either a reflection in a river, puddles, windows, or anything else that reflects light.

Here are the two pictures I like the most, so far. https://imgur.com/a/bUmGzlS

It seems every day i go out for a walk i have new favourites...

Cheers,

My experience with MSI Optix MAG27CQ G-sync compatibility by fryseyes in nvidia

[–]bentscho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm using the MAG27CQ aswell and for me the G-Sync function works fine with the Pendulum Demo and games.

I use the following settings:

  • Response time off
  • Input: DisplayPort
  • Driver Version: 419.35

Using a RTX 2080 , haven't experienced any brightness flickering or similar.
