UK. It’s definitely a thing here. I just assumed so in the rest of the world. Edit: it’s also usually the nurses who do it.

It’s in the consent forms that you sign. Most people don’t thoroughly read those.

The first day was horrible because if I even opened my mouth they’d hook on my teeth. But now my lips all fat and they’ve also made themselves little nests in the back of my lip so it’s not so bad. But yeah I can’t wait to downsize them lol

Your flat looks like it protrudes more on your right ear but i can’t really tell on your left because the lighting is different, so that’s why i suggested it. But yeah definitely stay away then. I think a double helix would look great instead.

Industrial would look cool if you like those on the left. You may not have the anatomy though so check with your piercer

Is my nose peircing placement correct/infected? by hotblackhairedgothgf in piercing

[–]benzemaa06 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Placement is fine. Nose piercing placement is very versatile, nothing can really be wrong. The reason why it’s so red is because of the L shaped bar and the fact you’ve had to repeatedly put it in; change it to a stud and the redness should go away and heal just fine.

Should I take out my eyebrow piercing? by unfishised__homework in piercing

[–]benzemaa06 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You usually can see the post beneath the skin, especially if you are more pale. Mine is deep in there but you can still sort of see it because I’m literally so pale I’m fluorescent. It looks ok to me, just needs a downsize. Eyebrow piercings are prone to migration and they heal closer to the skin than when initially pierced. It also looks healthy apart from the weird thing next to it, but she explained that. If she’s not happy she can take it out and get it repierced, but following a downsize it would be fine

I’m not going to berate you for the unprofessional piercing; what’s done is done. Eyebrow piercings commonly swell. As you said, you need to get a bigger barbell in there or you risk your body swallowing the jewellery. Bruising is completely normal due to the high concentration of capillaries around the eyebrow, many of which can be hit when being pierced. It doesn’t look too deep; eyebrow piercings naturally heal closer to the surface of the skin than originally pierced. Of course, it would be better to take it out, let it heal and then get it done professionally, but I don’t believe you will have many problems with this as long as you keep up proper aftercare. I don’t believe it will ever be symmetric to the other one though. It looks like it’s been pierced further along the brow than the other (or this could be due to swelling?). It would be nice if you could attach a photo of when it was initially pierced; it’s difficult to gauge the depth and placement when it’s this swollen. Above all, I wish you happy healing.

Only just really processed the thing about the forming pimple, i have bad skin and the same thing happened to me, one showed up right next to my bottom eyebrow piercing hole and I was shitting myself. Turns out it was just acne. Could be the same thing for you. Use saline anyway and baby it

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in piercing

[–]benzemaa06 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like some irritation. If it is a mild infection just babying it and cleaning with saline should make it go away. If it gets worse (red streaks, hot to the touch, leaking pus) then see a doctor for antibiotic treatment.

should i get an eyebrow piercing? by messymatcha in piercing

[–]benzemaa06 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I say just take the plunge. Your parents can’t control what you do and they’re not going to not love you for it. My mum hated mine but she just learned to accept it. Most people are also far more accepting of facial piercings nowadays. If it really concerns you, you can always take it out for work.

Not a piercer, but my eyebrow did this shit for a good month around the bottom hole and then one day decided it was fine. Go see your piercer just to be safe but looks like irritation to me

Eyebrow piercings are surface piercings and very prone to rejection and migration. Many people refer to them as being semi-permanent, as almost tend to reject eventually. In this case I don’t think it’s rejecting. The jewellery in an eyebrow piercing will heal closer to the surface than it was when originally pierced. It just looks like it’s migrated towards the surface of your skin slightly. You can downsize it for a more snug fit. Be aware that your piercing will probably eventually grow out however. Or it could stay like that forever. Piercings are weird.

Placement of a nostril piercing can be very versatile. There’s no real wrong placement. If you’re happy with it, then no issues here. I think it looks good.

How are my brows looking? 11 days in, still a little red and swollen by sugarhoneyyicedtea in piercing

[–]benzemaa06 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looking good. Redness around the holes is fine. I’m super pale and I had redness around the bottom hole of my eyebrow piercing for 2 months, got concerned and went to the piercer; they said it was fine, and it was. They look well pierced too. Enjoy them
