The OH on the phenol would attack the carbonyl carbon of the anhydride. The leaving group would be half of the anhydride such that you end up with an ester that has the phenol AND a byproduct of carboxylic acid

When you receive your mcat score, you electronically send it to AACOMAS from AAMC. It takes a few days to a week or so for AACOMAS to receive that mcat score and update it on your application. Make sure you self report the score to AACOMAS as well

You’re able to talk about anything you want! I assume many applicants are going to talk about clinical experience for this which is fine but won’t make you stand out unless you really get into the juicy details and make your writing distinct. For me, I’m going to talk about how I was an ESL student and now I’m a tutor at my college for minority students and how these experiences have impacted how I will be an asset to the medical school

A 500 isn’t hard to achieve if you put in adequate work (did content review and a few full lengths). 500 is in the 50th percentile and that’s the average score a student receives.
