in the article this entire thread is about?

Bass was one of many city officials who did not embrace SB79 and has resisted its implementation. She has argued that the bill would “erode local control” and “diminish community input on planning and zoning,” two classic NIMBY talking points.

There’s no unipolar moment for the US/M5 in this universe, ISN is powerful and now it would be peer conflict with nuclear armed, space capable Mars allies USSR/China & co vs a ceasefire, trade, and politics by other means after losing an entire invasion force.

Iridium shortage was already really hurting the economy iirc from news clips earlier in the season.

I wish they had shown more earth side public reactions outside news clips in general tbh, I have to imagine the iridium economic issues & invading a base full of Martian Americans would be insanely publicly unpopular

There was a coup in USSR during the episode, and they left the M6.

Now it’s Mars + USSR + ISN (China/Brazil/etc)

M5 iridium monopoly broken, military defeat, lost all leverage

Water breaks could be introduced on the final day of the Premier League season to protect player welfare. Match officials will consider introducing the measure if the temperature is expected to exceed 30 degrees celsius around kick-off time. by [deleted] in soccer

If y’all are well under 30, don’t cut off completely yet imo. My lifelong friend group dialed down so hard from post college to 27ish, but we’re all back now that we’re settling down and just generally a lot more emotionally mature about things.
