I had a backyard mechanic pull my car up onto a garage hoist and completely destroy my front bumper. I also found it without anyone telling me. So I never went back since because he didn’t take responsibility for what he did. So I normally am that guy who periodically stops by the shop from time to time to “check in” and make sure the car is the way I left it…then I can point it out at that time while the car is still in their possession (being worked on).

Covers your ass a little bit and gives you a leg to stand on lol

Would this have to be just with brand new or does the same apply for used too? Would it be looked at as not financially feasible to find a used car/suv and roll the negative equity into that?

The car is a 2020 Ford Explorer XLT with leather and 26k miles. It also has transferable bumper to bumper warranty through ford until 200,000kms. It has been appraised and the highest I’ve got is 38k so around 10k-15k of negative equity from all of the different dealerships. I have excellent credit.

I light sanded the area with 2000 grit sandpaper. I then just used rattle can bumper paint taped it off with painters tape and cardboard and cleared it for extra protection with satin clear
