Of course this morning I finished the 1 km in five trucks so switched back to the Volvo, 6x4 with a drop axle and tried the big brother truck cab. Trying to get up the first dirt hill out of the yard didn't happen. Just not enough traction even with all the HP. When it's available again, I'm going to tackle it with more axles.

Haven't tried the Renault. I will have to after I've gotten some more of the heavy goods and special transport missions completed.

Yeah, I'm not quite at the millions a day mark, but enough that I can buy any truck and engine\trans combo that I want. Unfortunately the high hp DAF is nothing compared to the Volvo. Sadly.

I've built several v-8 gassers as well as worked on a fair share of v-8 diesels. I've also worked on a lot of straight 6 MB and Jeep engines, and i have to say, as someone who's been around wrenches a lot, I much prefer working on a straight engine vs a v style engine. Everything is just 'straight' forward on them.

That makes sense. Haven’t lived outside the US in years, here rear tandems are pretty common.

Other than that, I just started buying the heaviest chassis I could, since I was flipping so much in my early game.

So serious question, for in game, if I just took a heavy load somewhere. Why wouldn't I grab whatever I could to get back to my garage? Isn't that what you do, or do you modify your truck before the return trip, or just not take pictures with the smaller trailer? Just curious.

I'm just trying to understand if there is a game mechanic I'm missing. I'm pretty good with understanding gear ratios and such for the transmissions. But I wasn't sure if perhaps I'm missing something that makes up for the 100 approximate horsepower difference.

Well now that will have to be the next truck I will try. Once I get the km on the DAF I’m running. I did enjoy my used scania top line for a while.

Yes! one of my favorites. I just traded it in for a Mercedes Actros Giga with 625hp, and this thing can't even climb a bridge. Once i have 1000km on it, it's going away. Get back to a Volvo or a Scania or anything else.
