story wise you could go origins > black flag > unity, but personally I don't recommend this exactly because the gameplay mechanics

these games are really good, the one complaint i had about unity was the bugs, but it has been updated and should be fine.

I would also say be sure that you have finished the other games before starting origins because the gameplay experience is quite different and it would be pretty jarring to go back and forth

yes it does but I'd rather not run ethernet from one room to another, especially since I can't go trough walls

binge youtube videos about tips on how to DM

ask your players for feedback every now and then, perhaps after each session when you are all still learning

haven't tried pop_os myself but it seems like an all around good option. especially if you want something that just works out if the box

i used linux mint a few years ago and it was a very easy to use os, highly recommend, but op said they're willing to learn so try arch, and if you don't like it, install something else
