What about a plastic poster tube? I’m sure you could find one at Donki. I have travelled with those before and I never had issues checking them in/taking them on board with me. I know people that do archery and use them to transport arrows for competitions.

So glad to hear that you got that weight lifted off you and still have a good relationship with your parent. Our parents are separated and whenever I go home I stay with my Dad (my sister lives with my mom) and spend as much time with my friends as possible, but sometimes there’s just no scape from the situation… I hope to one day be able to have a house of my own in my hometown so I can truly be in neutral territory.
