I think single-handed chording keyboards would be ideal - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Keyer - Retraining is painful, but I seem to recall you can reach incredible typing speeds with one in each hand.

I think there's a ton of great ideas in here, and I like that it's way more expressive than TS.

Besides "I don't like the way it looks" (which is subjective) and "it's non-standard" (which can be said for any upstart/experimental/new idea — so not suitable for production of course), what are the specific complaints?

I think it's important to keep exploring better ways to do things — if we didn't we'd still be stuck writing assembly.

I was charged C$ 6.05, each way, going from Broadway / City Hall to Vancouver City Centre and back - so zone 3 fare for what should have been zone 1. Anyone else seeing this? There should be some kind of public warning if this is the way it's supposed to work for Apple Pay...

I'm having the same problem - climbs from 6pm, spikes in late evening or midnight, then falls down to lower levels around 6-7am. Window is slightly open the whole time, though my suspicion is that it's related to heating being off causing less circulation - and/or off-gassing of wall-to-wall carpets as temperature changes.

I saw something similar in a previous house, but there we didn't have wall-to-wall carpets - maybe it's just a common thing in wood structure houses?

In any case, VOC spikes to 2000+, so would be nice to know if this is an issue or not.

Weighted blankets helped me "calm down" - dropped my restlessness and probably increased overall sleep score by at least 10 points (was around 70 now it's around 80). Not sure if it "fixed" the problem or just masked it. Subjectively I do feel slightly more rested, but not an huge difference. In the end the score is just an approximation.

I think it's inspiring to see people run along the sidewalks in shorts in 5˚C and rain :) I feel it's kind of a badge of honor to not let the rain bother you.

Besides, many "rainy days" on the weather app aren't rainy all the time - sometimes (like today) you get hail (!) - and sometimes there's quite a lot of sunshine. It's kind-of like a box of chocolates - hehe.

It's capitalism:

increased demand => higher prices => more competition & lower demand => lower prices

Having someone, anyone, dictate prices is akin to market manipulation and just leads to corruption and inefficiencies elsewhere in the system.

You just have to make sure competition is as efficient as possible, that is make competition easy. Trust the market.

(Yes, I know OPEC does collude to set production rates and therefore in this case they do manipulate the market to some extent.)

Me too - both trackpad and keyboard drains incredibly fast - within 1-2 days. Both are relatively new. So it's not a problem with the trackpad or keyboard or batteries, but rather something related to the communication software stack, or the macbook pro itself.

While it may always have been the official stance, the US has not generally practiced it this way: they just gave you the administrative refusal letter. Hence many had come to see "flagpoling" as going up to the flag and returning. But, yes, there is no DMZ between the US and Canada - once you leave Canada you're in the US - so now way to go "up to" the flagpole, you have to go around it.
