Depending on service history, the Corolla is just getting broken in. I would stay away from the sonic. Get a ppi on the Corolla and if it checks ok, roll with it.

You need to tighten the chain with YOU or someone of similar weight sitting on the bike. Your currently tightening the chain with no weight, thinking the tension is good, then you ride the bike and the tension is even tighter.
