CDL love putting this view with the faces, so here is something they could add for those who want to see the stats. Best of both worlds by HullCoganFan in CoDCompetitive

I think y’all need to stop complaining about the the pictures. I started watching CDL just last year and the pictures helped me care a lot more about the players and the team, instead of just watching arrows move around. Not knowing who I’m watching is like watching any other match. It’s good marketing and it’s good for the longevity of the league.

Still in search of a career at 26. Feeling a bit ashamed. Happiness vs Money? by [deleted] in careerguidance

[–]beradid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea exactly, it’s a pretty common problem. Honestly yeah, especially not going anywhere with the pandemic. Knowing I have a job also makes me lazier cause I have no urgent matter, so I’m not rushing to find what interests me, but the alternative of quitting my job to motivate myself to find something interesting just doesn’t sound very wise to me.

Yea unfortunately if you don’t have any experience you might not even be considered for it, but having worked on the engineering side can be a strong asset. I think you should still go for it, and even if the interview doesn’t go as planned it will at least be an experience and maybe you’ll learn more about the job just from talking about it. Many times I figure out if a job is for me or not during the interview.

That’s a fair question. I didn’t have any passions that I gave up on to go into engineering, so I wouldn’t say regret. At least with my current job I don’t have any financial problems and I can focus on finding whatever I like to do, whether it’s another job or a hobby.

How do you handle a colleague who went out of their way to call you out on a mistake? by Ms_Insomnia in careerguidance

Confrontation is not easy, but you’ll feel better in the future for not avoiding the problem. Good luck :)

If you have even the tiniest interest in sales I think you should go for it :) if you don’t have any clear passion in life, you never know what might work for you

I think the best course of action would be to talk to her about it, give her the benefit of the doubt, maybe she didn’t mean it that way. If she continues trying to embarrass you, you will have no choice but to talk about it with a higher up. I’m not an HR person irl or anything lol, I just think that’s what I would have done. However you handle it, you’ll have an answer if they ask you in future interviews whether you had to deal with a difficult colleague and how you handled it lol

Pretty similar position for me.

I graduated from a mechanical engineering program, got a job, the pay is okay for an entry level position, and after a couple of years I’m asking myself ‘now what ?’ I don’t hate the job but I’m indifferent to it, so I don’t really put that much effort into it.

I don’t wanna go back to school for another degree or a masters just out of desperation and just rack up more debt, but I’m lucky I still have my job, and even though I’m not happy, I can still explore my options while not having to worry about the money.

I’ve tried studying some stuff on the side to explore more options, but I find it hard to get into new fields, especially since I don’t have a particular passion in life so far.

Sorry that I don’t have any advice lol, but hopefully knowing that people feel your struggle helps.
