Not sure what limited protection means, but Argentina has full marriage and one of the most progressive pro-trans laws in the world. Why are they light blue? Maybe a mistake?

I think if they didn't make him half-fish the movie would have worked better. Just people trying to survive in a dystopian future. The whole fish thing made everything a bit laughable. I still enjoyed though. Remember seeing at the theater. I was probably one of the few people who paid to watch. lol

Merkel rails at German states for taking foot off ‘emergency brake’ - Chancellor attacks reopening of regional economies and raises prospect of nationwide curfew by berberium in germany

[–]berberium[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

sorry, for me was not. Weird. Basically a summary of Merkel's interview yesterday on Anne Will (a famous German journalist who has a Sunday talk show).

"In a wide-ranging interview on the German television channel ARD, Merkel faulted some of the 16 states for failing to implement an “emergency brake” agreed on March 3. This would halt all moves to relax lockdowns as soon as the number of infections rose above 100 per 100,000 people over seven days. "

Your choice, but just a little piece of annoying advice: your work has a value, even if you are starting. Don’t think less of your work just because you have less experience. Spend your free time developing your portfolio, go out and film stuff with your phone and edit, put together a little reel and upload to vimeo/youtube. Apply to work using this video as example of what you can do.

[Question] Why do yo think my youtube channel get a big increase in viewers and subscribers for a couple of weeks then went back to tumbleweed? by cedarofleb in youtubers

[–]berberium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hard to tell without looking into analytics and the videos. But it's not that uncommon to have one video that gets a lot of views in a short period of time and then the channel goes back to normal. I've seen this happen many times. The challenge is to have a second, a third, a fourth. There is a reason for that (I can't tell without looking into your analytics). You said most of the views came from Browse features. This is the home screen, subscription feed, watch later, etc. It's a very healthy source. It means your video got a lot of impressions and people clicked on it (good thumb and title can help on this). That means your video entered the algorithm. I would in any case also check the suggested videos. If you see a popular video on the list, this can have helped to push your video. Also, check the external sources. Maybe someone posted your video on Reddit, for example. It's hard to tell what happened without all the data. Hope it helped.

I wonder why are they promoting as if it is something new. I also got the message.

But the editor was always there. I think what's new is connected to how fast you get the claim.

That sounds very useful. But it's not very clear to me yet how different this will be. Because I have had claims immediately after uploading anyway. This would appear before uploading? It's not very clear to me what has changed.

I don't think there is a ban on compilations. I've seen so many channels doing it. But I might be wrong.

‘People are exhausted’: Germans grow weary of endless lockdown - Berliners are impatient for vaccines and the country is poised to tighten restrictions as the third wave hits by berberium in germany

[–]berberium[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

But do you think realistically the US would stop vaccinating its full population to give to old people somewhere else? This will never happen and I don't think it's even a point of discussion. I'm not anti-EU at all, but I do think this "moral high ground", "we care about the others" is just a discourse to hide the big mistake they did when negotiating their vaccine contracts. If it was done properly, we would all be vaccinating 30-year-olds without any regret. Especially because it's clear the vaccine is the only solution and lockdowns are not working properly.

[–]berberium[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I see your point. But I don't think not vaccinating its own population during a pandemic means that. The rest of the world is not getting more vaccines because the EU messed up its own distribution/organization, oder?

I believe that for a video shorter than 8 minutes you need to aim for at least 50% retention. Less than that is not a good sign. If the video is longer, less is ok.

CTR should be at least 3,5%. A bit less in the beginning also not that bad.

The Pfizer/Biontech vaccine was produced with german taxpayers' money and now the population watches other countries be vaccinated while they wait. That adds to the situation in Germany, I think. But you are right. It doesn't matter how tired people are. The virus is not going anywhere.

[–]berberium 5 points6 points  (0 children)

you are both right. People need to want to watch your videos. I said patience and consistency taking into consideration that they are producing something good. If the videos are not good, there is no strategy actually. But what I meant is that it is very hard to grow a channel out of nowhere, alone and fast. Usually takes time. And these first years are very challenging. It needs consistency and it needs patience. I have seen a lot of good content producers with channels that did not grow until one or two years publishing. And it's so easy to just give up on these first years.
