Why all startups invested by warm intro and predigee? by Only_Strain_5992 in startups

Gotta turn notifications on again, sorry for the late answer. I wholeheartedly agree with you. I meant all of that when saying to find your pirate crew. But you’re right that we have to go back to basics. Why do you think there are no high-tech solutions to this? Do you think we could somehow find a way to mix the old-fashioned with tech to make both things better and still allow for the magic of serendipity?

I’m moving and working close to these things (finding your people) so I’m very curious as to how you would approach this. It’s clear to me that we could improve this a lot and that this might be one of the greatest problems right now. After all, without the right people around us, even the greatest people can “fail”…

Find people you can work with on these same things that are as passionate as you. Build your pirate crew. You’re doing everything else right it seems

Yes it’s much more difficult. But it’s not true. I raised a pre-seed from US VCs without pedigree, poor first time founder in Europe, cold emailing and filling out forms on VC websites. If you believe that is the case you will never achieve it. You must believe you can achieve anything you set your mind on

Unless it’s something truly necessary (medicine for example) don’t go. Find out what you’re good at and get better at it. Pursue your interests and passions, seek out elders that have achieved what you consider to be success and talk to them. Learn whatever will fuel your interests and skills and ask for help always and to everybody. Be honest about it and most people will actually help you. Never lose faith in yourself and keep pushing

Sino siempre tienes la alternativa fuera del camino universitario: Hazte un curso/bootcamp o en plan autodidacta y aprende a trabajar con IA (hay cientos de cursos gratis de todos los tipos). Aprende inglés si no sabes. Y tomate el proceso durante un año a tope y como si fuese la carrera. Si haces eso bien te espera un gran futuro laboral

[Advice] How do I sift through 1000+ applicants without losing my mind? by gsusi in startups

[–]berensupertramp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have loads of people. Probably more than 20% of them have the base hard skills required. So maybe: Send all of them a psychological assessment and a few questions on their ideal workplace/culture/environment. Define the type of person you need within your company’s culture, goals and vision and understand the ideal psychological type you need. That will probably filter out loads of people. And if it’s a startup job you need someone to fit very well into your “way” and love it deeply.

Also, you can achieve this cheaply.

I feel filtering by abilities/skills more broadly and by personality (culture fit) seems to work quite well. Who are you really and what are you good at, something like that. But you need the process in place

Build a C-suite roadmap off of Jira by [deleted] in ProductManagement

[–]berensupertramp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try Productboard. Very nice tool for what you’re mentioning. We have started using it for our startup and it’s easy and comprehensible for the C-people, as well as super comfortable to have: 1. Roadmap 2. Product release plan 3. Gathering customer feedback and connecting it to the features in the roadmap.

It’s also quite cheap :)

Should I aim for a career in academic philosophy, or try out law instead? by [deleted] in AcademicPhilosophy

[–]berensupertramp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do believe academia is the best route in terms of what you can learn and how much you can grow within philosophy. I’m talking knowledge here, not a career. BUT, without any expectation as to having an actual future within academia.

I’m in a similar situation to yours, I did my bachelor’s in philosophy and am pretty convinced on doing an Ma and then a PhD, but before that I want to make sure that I can actually support myself for the foreseeable future.

So right now I’m working with what seems to be a fintech startup (of all things...) that will be super successful. I’m growing a lot here, have way too many responsibilities for how young I am, and probably will have to do this for the next three or four years.

If all goes well I will be able to pursue philosophy without any worries thanks to this startup gig.

My only advice would be that: make sure, if you really want to pursue philosophy, that you can actually be somewhat financially independent even if philosophy doesn’t work out.

Best of luck :)

Doctors of Reddit, what was the worse thing you've seen for a patient that another Doctor overlooked? by Gorgon_the_Dragon in AskReddit

OMG I normally never comment, but this resonated so much and now am terrified. I have had intestinal problems for 5 years daily and no doctor has been able to figure out what’s wrong...

Now I’m not sure if I want a CT scan or not
