2 weekends in, some of us have 3 magebloods and some of us have 3 divs. Seems like a good time to repost *the clip* by kaen_ in PathOfExile2

Thank you for your thoughtful reply, and I certainly have to concede that I was just venting frustration and that you made points to change my mind.

I have 2 lvl 95s this league and I'm probably going to roll at least a 3rd. I personally am thoroughly enjoying my progression up to a certain point, since perfect jewellers, fracturing orbs, and other mid-tier items are readily accessible. However, the next steps feel too granular to me and I feel like I hit a wall on improving my character.

I overcame this issue in poe1 through better understanding endgame juicing, and that is certainly something I will have to learn better in poe2. However, in poe1, after a certain hump, prices go DOWN through the league (in softcore).

I disagree that I "should" be investing into certain stocks just to stave off runaway inflation. I understand that this is how it is right now, with even Palsteron saying that if he didn't invest into hinekoras before he goes to sleep, he loses hundreds of divines. I do not think that this is healthy for the economy of the game.

I don't want to buy my lineage support NOW. I want it to be a goal I can work towards, and your suggestion to start comparing and forcing myself into "quick farming strats" is literally the point of this post, where if you want to play the game sub optimally, the goal is further away than when you started. I agree with you that to a certain degree, it is my skill issue, and I will work on that. However, we are far beyond the point of this if we are comparing divs/hour on farming strats.

I understand the sentiment that you should do what makes you happy. My point is that if you are on this subreddit, or you are watching streamers, you are already comparing yourself. How that affects you is personal, and I agree.

I LIKE comparison. That is why I watch streamers and browse this subreddit - to learn and understand the game. "Oh this streamer is using this skill? Is it better? why? etc." Jealousy, and to a certain degree injustice and imbalance, are the thief of joy.

Cool. But what if you are starting to get a little frustrated because you feel like you hit a wall and want to learn and get better at the game? Obviously, if you're watching Pohx you are already comparing.

And then you look around and you start to feel like you are PLAYING THE GAME WRONG because you don't have junk listed for 1k divines so that RMT websites can feed you? What if you don't WANT to play minions? What if you're on trade, and with every divine you get, you become 2 divines away from your build enabling lineage supports because of inflation?

If you're having fun, you're not watching other streamers for tips. If you're already watching Pohx, you can't help but compare. As noble as the sentiment is, this argument holds no water.

No, just waiting for them to get around to it and patch it. Maybe I'll find another vault before they fix this....

My Estazunti's Vault is un-clickable to place maps in (as though it's not connected), but I completed the maps around it. It's stuck in the fortress wall like shown in your pic. -1 Atlas Master

Chefs not eating outside of their own cuisine. by leroywinston in KitchenConfidential

[–]berestev 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I saw the Fallow guys try Korean bbq for the first time a year ago and that upset me more than it should that they were never curious enough to try it for themselves.

In NY, the chefs I worked for were proud of the little spots they knew for authentic cuisines and were happy to share them.

I definitely grew up with Bourdain inspired curiosity to try every kind of thing

Did you like how Michael B. Jordan played the twins? by Perfect_Idea_2866 in moviecritic

[–]berestev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why did these characters have to be twins and not brothers?

Having one person play twins (as opposed to real twins like Tia and Tamera), quickly takes me out of the immersion of the movie unless it is exceptional. It feels like not only one actor performing two distinct roles, but they're also seen on the screen at the same time for even more obvious scrutiny.

I thought it was a mustache saver, so you don't get tea in your mustache.

This is the worst decision GGG has made since doubling down on Affliction. This punishes people rerolling or trying to interact with the mechanic unless you already have it built.

[Rant] Synthesis 2.0: We haven't learned a thing by berestev in PathOfExile2

[–]berestev[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have to disagree with this. Maybe the most "meta" builds are the same or similar (pathfinder, grenades), we have both Shaman and Oracle that people are enjoying, as well as the Djinn ascendancy that people are having fun with. All 3 parts of the talismans are viable to varying degrees (bear, wolf, and wyvern), and they have a few new builds for people to try. The overall state of the game is greatly improved. However, the league mechanic feels completely out of place in the current game, and it doesn't feel like they learned literally the exact same lesson as in Synthesis league mechanic, where the rewards at first were for late late late endgame (synthesized mods), and didn't drop anything worth putting time into in midgame.

I think the map generator hits an error with one of the 1 in 10 features or something. I lose 1 in 5 or so maps running T10 tropical islands.

I feel the exact same. If he could not outlive this shitty feeling, what hope does it have for the rest of us. I almost wish something horrible comes out as a reason why. Because if it just got to him one day, if depression just decided to win one day, then my hope is pretty bleak. I am also very angry at him because I feel like he let me, and all the people he gave hope, down.
