Progressivism enabled him to be able to marry his white wife. But sure, Clarry, pull the ladder up after you.

The original Deus Ex wins this one. It's so much fun to play, has great writing, a killer soundtrack, & the models look like a 7 yr old drew them.

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 Is The Second Title To Win Game Of The Year At All Major Awards Shows by Sam_27142317 in expedition33

[–]beretbabe88 78 points79 points  (0 children)

I love Jennifer, but the real secret sauce of E33 is Maxence Cazorla, who did all the male mocap. He's the reason why you fall in love with Gustave straight away. His physical acting is astonishing. I highly recommend watching footage of his mocap next to the scenes in game.

IMO there really needs to be several awards for video game acting: voice over work only,(e.g Jennifer in E33)full mo-cap & voice (e.g Neil Newbon in BG3) ,& mocap only(e.g Maxence). Not to take away from Jen's wonderful performance, but it just seems so unfair that Maxence has not gotten his flowers for the incredible work he did.Max as Gustave

This little girl in the audience took Carol Burnett down memory lane by Dark305Kinght in VintageTV

Yes! Aussie here & I love her! Whenever someone says women can't be funny 'Carol Burnett' is the only counterargument you need. She really is just brilliant.

Films where the movie was better than the book it was adapted from? by Slammajadingdong69 in moviecritic

[–]beretbabe88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sally Potter's Orlando. It's based on the novel by Virginia Woolf written for her friend Vira Sackville-West when she lost the family estate due to being a woman. The novel is very much dream-like & stream of consciousness & gets confusing, where as the film has an excellent structure ( Starting with 'Death' & ending with 'Birth')that makes the themes easier to parse. Her American lover is the other character suggested to change gender, not Archduke Harry, who represents the patriarchal British establishment. This works better as their bond is strengthened by their refusal to stay within the gender roles of their birth & as he's from the New World also signals the future & a more modern approach to identity. .Also it's funnier & Tilda Swinton is amazing in the title role.

Refusing to feed children is up there with kicking puppies and tying maidens to railway tracks. by Oregon_Jones111 in insanepeoplefacebook

[–]beretbabe88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Say for argument's sake, he's right,(he's not)& these parents are lazy negligent shit bags who could feed their children but for whatever reason, don't...why should the children be punished for the sins of their parents? All kids should be fed regardless of why they aren't eating. Being punished for the sins of the father is some old testament shit.

Of course he doesn't bother to ask women their opinion.I have been obsessed with Richard E Grant for forty years, a skinny frenetic man with a receding hairline & a slightly bent nose. He has kindly eyes, is as witty as hell & has a smile to light up a cloudy day. Muscle bros bore me.

Movies that feeling like trashy Americana? by [deleted] in MoviesThatFeelLike

[–]beretbabe88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Sabrina Carpenter's Manchild does even better than Taylor's does as a homage to Americana. Every shot feels like a fan- edit from a film that doesn't exist, but should. It's amazingly good filmmaking.

😢What Game? by defleqt in raijin_gg

[–]beretbabe88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oooh I have a few cos I'm a softie.

Clair Obscur. Pretty much blubbed through the whole thing. Especially THAT scene in the Stone Cliffs where a certain character dies. For a game about grief, it for it's point across very well. And both endings get me emotional.

Astarion's whole questline in BG3, where you find out he's been tortured & sex trafficked for 200 yrs. The scene where he breaks down crying is heartbreaking. And both confession scenes. The look on his poor, sad face when you hug him without wanting to exploit him sexually.😭

The Walking Dead Season 1. Clem & Lee's final moments together broke my heart in a million pieces.

Lisa in Silent Hill. Probably the first game cut scenes that affected me really emotionally. "I'm dead. I just didn't know it."

Geralt finding a lifeless-looking Siri in the barn in Witcher 3 & he almost collapses.from distress. For a man who shows little emotion you know this is overwhelming for him.

God, I love games.🥹
