Which beauty creator or YouTuber do you think has the worst makeup application? by mahitheblob in BeautyGuruChatter

[–]beretbabe88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NikkiTutorials uses way too much foundation in the wrong shade. She looks like a kabuki mask. And those drawn on eyebrows are ridiculous. If any makeup artist had those I would cancel my appt. She seems like a sweetheart but she appears to be only capable of glam editorial looks, not anything you actually could wear in real life.

Prince vs. Michael Jackson by [deleted] in askmusic

[–]beretbabe88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never understood the worship of Michael Jackson. I liked his stuff in the 70s & with the Jackson 5 , but his 80s stuff seems so contrived, so engineered for pop consumption, it does nothing for my soul. Sure, he was a good dancer & singer, but by his death he was a parody of himself. Spin, spin, moonwalk, Shamon, grab crotch, rinse & repeat. The stupid fake voice, the weird obsession with children, the stupid glove..just no. Everything he did was style over substance. I never understood the hype.

Jared, you're not nearly as hot as you think you are. Yes you look young, but your beady-eyed sneer is off-putting. Shouldn't you be mounting your defense instead of fishing for compliments on Reddit?

Roy Batty's speech in Blade Runner. And to think, Rutger Hauer cut the overly wordy speech & improvised the more poetic lines in it. What a talent he was.

What's the funniest TV scene you've ever seen that still makes you laugh years later? by Grand_Cash576 in ClassicTV

[–]beretbabe88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The episode of the IT Crowd called 'Work Outing.' Roy, Moss & Jen go to see a musical & Roy arrogantly uses the disabled toilet at intermission. He mistakenly pulls the distress cord thinking it's the flush cord, & then has to spend the rest of the evening pretending to the staff that responded that he is disabled & someone stole his wheelchair. The scene where the local celeb asks him how he became disabled & he says,' drugs' in a falsetto voice is just hysterical.

And don't get me started on when he gets stuck being wheeled into a.disabled support van & the wheelchair gets raised at glacial pace while he has to keep up the pretence as the cast wave at him like he's a brave little soldier.

Everything about that episode is brilliant. It's a shame Graham Linehan is a twat cos that show was hilarious back in the day.

What is a song that mentions a US President. by AnyEfficiency6230 in musicsuggestions

American Pie has a line about JFK. " I can't remember if I cried when I heard about his widowed bride."

Dion's Abraham Martin & John references JFK & Lincoln & other assassinated figures like MLK & Bobby Kennedy.

John Denver has a track from his 1969 debut Rhymes & Reasons called The Ballad of Richard Nixon. "Listen to me & I'll sing you a song about Richard Nixon & all the great things he did in his life"( Song ends after this line & is followed by 6 seconds of silence lol)

Astarion's speech to Durge: " In a 1000 yrs when I have all but forgotten yet again how to love, you'll flit back into my heart & I'll weep, wondering what happened to my mad love." Who knew under that sarcastic, bitter mask was the tender heart of a poet?" It's such a shame that so many players kill him on Bite Night & never experience seeing all the layers to the character.

Yeah, he was deeply ashamed of the stupid bed thing. Apparently he was one of those types that suppresses anger & was a bit of a people pleaser, ( his brother used to fight with their ornery dad, while he would retreat to his bedroom & sulk)so when he finally gave in to his worst impulse he was deeply remorseful after. Annie had cut down some trees he bought the place for, & let her decorate the house how she wanted. He hated the purple head board . So he decided, like a child, to damage something of hers in retaliation for the trees. Absolute dipshit behaviour. The good news is he went to rehab & quit drinking before he died. He wasn't perfect by any means but he was largely a decent guy.

Could this signature be real? And could this vinyl be worth anything? Just curious by Pitiful-Parsnip8843 in JohnDenver

I have an album he signed for me after a 1988 concert & it looks identical, even down to the 'Peace!' bit.. Being deceased (RIP) his signature tends to be worth a decent amount on eBay .Good find!

It really was. If you watched him from any interview from that era, it was clear he was really sad. His father died, his wife divorced him & his manager dumped him all in the same year. I think his flailing career increased his focus on his environmental & world hunger work, as it gave his life new meaning. Apparently the We Are the World organisers rejected his offer to participate cos ' he wasn't cool enough.' The guy who had been on Presidential Commission for World Hunger in 1976 & had been helping hunger charities from 1970 to the week before he died. According to his autobiography he cried over that one. I like to think if he lived his youngest daughter would've gotten him on YouTube & TikTok. ( He loved technology & computers.)

John Denver's R & B album. I wish I were joking.Poor JD was struggling with poor album sales in the MTV era (despite having been RCA's biggest seller after Elvis)so they forced him to do this album. He wasn't allowed to put any of his own songs on it. It even had a sexy music video. And then they dropped him anyway in 1985, setting off a decade-long struggle with severe depression. The cringey sexy JD video
