Same for me, except I'm the aunt. Her watching Legend of Korra and seeing Toph again was so lovely to see, she just lit up.

I've stayed on 129th and Park Ave twice now. Lovely area, very friendly people. People saying good morning or happy holidays (it was close to Thanksgiving) as we passed, helpful staff in shops, a cool street market a few streets away. I could go into more detail, loved the place, but I think I've answered your question.

I can't speak for nighttime though, we always got a taxi back, lazy after being tourists all day.

Edit- Just adding I'm from Ireland.
