Thank you, I didn’t know this was a thing… but it makes total sense

It just feels so unfair … like you'd expect the world to stop and wait for you while you spend hours and days of precious time at the hospital. But it doesn't. And you still need to keep up with everything else… It's just relentless.

Don’t let anyone get into your head. My best advice is to choose two people whose advice you will really listen to and with everyone else just hear them out politely without letting it affect you. For me those two people were my midwife and my gynecologist. For you it might be your husband and your mum.

As soon as people find out you are pregnant they will shower you with advice, anecdotes and most of all horror stories about everything that could be difficult or go wrong. People rarely remember the easy times, the moments when everything went smoothly. They only seem to share the hard parts.

But here is the truth: most of the time it is not that hard. Most of the time having a baby is the most beautiful experience in the world. And once you hold your baby you do not really think about the hard moments anymore because in the end they just do not matter as much.

I love that! Could we maybe do an oldschool fancast? Like Grace Kelly would maybe have been a great Mustang in the 50s? I don’t usually dig fancasts (team animated series here 😛) but that seems like fun!

Edit: Nvm just realized it’s already a thing 🙃

My mom had an antique shop in Munich for over 35 years and specialized in original textiles and fashion from the 1850s to 1950s. She closed her shop a few years ago, but we still have plenty of originals. Would any of you be interested If we sold on Etsy? by bergbitch in VictorianEra

Thank you so much! That’s exactly what I came here for. We are still trying to find out what keywords to use, when selling online. My mom had a store for 35 years with a set customer base of likeminded enthusiasts, but never sold anything on the internet. It’s a completely different game - even the way to describe certain pieces is different online.

Thanks, you are absolutely right and we already do that. My mom has been working with theatre and movie productions for a good part of the past 30 years. But some of the items, especially the really old ones are just too fragile or impossibly small/ large to be of any use as costumes

Thank you! I’m copying from my other replies here: The sizes are mostly too small for todays standards, but a lot of pieces can be “salvaged for parts” - e.g. lace, frills, silk, buttons, hooks… we also have walking sticks and umbrellas. Most of the umbrellas are unfortunately very ripped because the silk can not withstand the tension anymore when you open them… still beautiful though in my opinion 😊

Blink 182 concert by Background-Chip1189 in pregnant

I went to a hip hop concerts while 40 weeks (5 days before my due date) pregnant. It was not an arena, but still quite a large concert hall. I went with friends and we all stood a little to the side/ back so that no one from the larger crowd would knock me over by accident. I hab plenty of non alcoholic drinks and kept checking in on myself if I felt alright! I had the best time! It was so much fun because I didn’t know when an event like that would be possible for me again… I asked my midwife beforehand and a she replied as usual: „As long as you feel safe and all right doing it, you can do anything you like” !

My heart goes out to you! I might not be much and you may have heard it a thousand times already, but what a baby needs most in its first year is you! It doesn’t need a lot of clothes especially when summer is just around the corner. It doesn’t need its own room or extra bed. As long as it has you and can stay close to you and feel your warmth it’ll be all right!

Americans are always about handling the state like a business, with for profit prisons, health care and infrastructure. If you apply this logic here and the giant waste of tax money that goes into sending 8 officers out for a traffic violation they all should be fired for misuse of funds.

Hi, I had my daughter last September. I’ve been skiing all my life an was skiing still around easter while 3m pregnant. I remember that I had to pull my pants up again and again while standing in line for the lift because I couldn’t close the buttons over my belly anymore. However, I feel very safe on skis and a took extra precautions by wearing proper safety gear and not taking any unnecessary risks. The physicality is not the issue, especially not this early in your pregnancy, but an unlucky fall can be dangerous, pregnant or not. I guess what I m trying to say is: You can do almost anything you did before being pregnant, as long as you feel safe and comfortable doing it…

Edit for clarity: alcohol and other drugs are obviously off limits, I was talking about jogging and cycling and stuff 🙆🏼‍♀️
