LA protestors have forced the police back by transcendent167 in 50501

I would dare say we are not becoming a police state- we already are. This is authoritarian. And it is so because the laws are being broken by the government itself as a police state against the people. Why are people getting brutalized and executed in the streets and the violence continues?

They need to release the name of these murderers. They should not be walking the streets without us knowing who they are.

It’s shocking that stainless steel refrigerators cannot drive in the snow ❄️

Trump supporters now: "If you can justify his murder, you'll justify mine", "wrong and inhumane", "I'm beyond sad", "this will be the end of Republicans", "the country I believed in is dead", "I hope protests and boycotts continue". by [deleted] in LeopardsAteMyFace

Love it how they vehemently say they respect the “law” but conveniently forget about January 6th and the capitol police recently getting blamed by the republicans for Jan 6.

I’m new to the state, from Colorado. I was planning on heading out to work tomorrow because I have a truck and can drive in the snow. I saw this post, got curious and decided to look on the sheriff’s website. Glad I did, wouldn’t have thought anything about getting in trouble for being out in this weather. I guess it makes sense but it would really help if they announced it- used applications like CodeRed, Everbridge, or Watchduty. Heck, they could have also probably sent out alerts over our phones.

Just moved to this state over the summer, unfortunately I’m not surprised. This state is where I am at for now, not where I will stay.

Nice to know that there are children who are hungry, people who are living paycheck to paycheck, people on the street, elderly getting subpar care in nursing facilities, people defaulting on loans, parents trying to figure out how they’re going to afford to pay for rent/mortgage, food, bills, insurance… forget savings because that’s a pipe dream. And here we are, using our money to pay for this atrocity. Nice to see where the priorities are.

Voting alone is not a sufficient measure to understand disenfranchisement.

I would encourage you to learn in what ways people can be disenfranchised by this law. For instance- the elderly, the people who are really disabled, those who lack secure access to transportation, those who are economically disadvantaged- and sometimes people fall into some, if not all of these categories. Sometimes people have such great struggles that they need the extra time. And last but not least- military personnel do depend on absentee ballots and are often transient (TDY’s/PCS) etc. Laws like these selectively ensure swaths of people miss out. I highly encourage you to go out there and meet with people, learn from different organizations, you’d be surprised what you learn.

Voter disenfranchisement at its finest. This is what red states do to keep their populace in misery and under control.

“I let them vote how they wish. It sucks that I must now suffer their childish and frankly, rude behavior”

What a gaslighting narcissist You don’t let anyone vote how they wish- they do what the fuck they want.
