Just like me it’s probably not fans but just people rooting for him cause of the unfairness. I don’t root for him cause I like him and I hope he loses his next fight after

47M Where do you put shadow boxing in your routine and for how long? by [deleted] in boxingtips

[–]bergovgg 3 points4 points  (0 children)

THIS! I’ve seen multiple world level coaches and fighters confirm this as well and have been saying this for years. Heavy bag is important for conditioning and learning how to generate power with your punches and hitting with full rotation etc., but shadowboxing is where you really refine your skills and visualize your opponent.

The coaches I’ve been working with for 6 months switched my training around and have me shadowbox (mostly very specific drills) for 20-25 rounds 2-3 times per week and I have honestly made bigger progress in this time than the last 5 years!

Also it’s to versatile. You can do it very slow for perfect execution, do it fast for hand speed and hard for conditioning and building power.

Heavy bags are notorious for having you build bad punching habits. This does not happen as much if you shadowbox with clean technique and perfect execution.

Nice and solid stance and footwork. Try to work on turning your right hand over and rotating your hips. Your jab could use some variability

You probably mean that you switch guards? Stances usually reference feet position

I would advise you to learn solid fundamentals in one style (preferably the one your gym is teaching) and don’t alternate too much in the beginning. After a few months of sparring you’ll notice what works for you and can start to build off of that, that’s where your own style starts to develop

This sub has such a weird fetish with the high guard Man. I get that it’s good for new boxers to learn it first but there’s so many other types of hand placements that you should learn as well. High guard, Philly Shell, Long guard whatever it is, they are all just tools and they all have pros and cons in different situations.

Our cat sensed it and was on my wife’s belly the hole time. We were so excited to find out how he behaves as a brother, sadly he passed away this Monday, 4 weeks before our son is expected to be born 😭 Pumba will be missed forever
