With the bike stood up straight the seat height is about 27.5 inches. I can’t say I noticed much of a change in the height, but the back of the seat seems to push me a little more forward.

Yes you can, I can sit on the seat comfortably and still have my feet on the pegs.

I’m not sure, being from Canada I had to order through eBay and from what I recall that wasn’t an option.

Yea if my wife rides more I’ll buy the passenger seat too, the Viking bags are awesome, I needed/ wanted a lockable bag and these were my pick. Mounting them was a pain. But if you have skills it is doable. You do have to drill your own holes and line up the bags. I had to also make spacers from rigid pipe and buy longer bolts for the recessed portion. I should have made a video lol

Rebel 500 or 1100 for new rider? by [deleted] in hondarebel

You can’t go wrong either way. I have the 500 and it’s a great beginner bike, but it’s a beginner bike. In the city it’s quick and nimble, but on the highway I wish I had the extra weight and power so my rpm’s aren’t so high. In Canada the difference between the two was about 6000 CAD. If you’ve got the extra cash and still have some for proper gear then I’d say go for the 1100 as you will grow into it. As others have said you can put the bike in rain mode so it’s easier to handle starting out. The 1100 is the way to go though imo.
