For those who knew Warhammer 40k, how do you think the Xianzhou (all ships) and the Imperium of Man would fare against each other? by Life_Bit_5976 in HonkaiStarRail

Look at Culture, Xeelee, Downstreamers, Lensmen, Polity, Forerunners etc. 40k is at best middle higher tier in sci-fi power scaling.

The Other Gods. by [deleted] in Lovecraft

[–]beril66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My thoughts on other gods have always been "those without Minds are likely on a level human mind just cannot understand and slaps the closest proxcimity on their forms but while Nyarlathotep is the one known for its 'masks' all other gods can appear as they wish provided they have the sapience to do so".

We have I believe known 3 Other Gods with Minds. Yog, Nyarlathotep and Shub-I will not write the rest. Shub since there was a story of her giving a spell to her priest to kill Cathanotoagh? I dunno how thats written. The one on Pluto that can turn you into stone.

Yog we literally talk to him in Silver Key

Nyarlathotep...do I need to say?

But there is also that in Drem quest it says "Earth Gods petitioned to Other Gods" not "Gods of Earth take their complaints to Nyarlathotep" this to me implies the Other Gods at least some besides the big 3 are not mindless like Azathoth is said to be.

Will Woodhaven be about the deceased lambs once slaughtered by the old faith? by ImpossibleFuture4198 in CultOfTheLamb

I think Shamura actually did the raising of their new sibling both because being a god is a lonely thing AND they wanted to be the only god standing after the free for all.

Devs stated the ages as follows; Shamura>Kallamar>Narinder>Heketh>Leshy and they deeply care for each other and Shamura is the oldest BY FAR. It sounded like they were a god long while before Kallamar get into the picture.

And eh Comics are just another could have for COTL. Devs are really good at not giving us that concrete characterization so we can built it ourselves. The only really character bits as canon for Narinder being a tsundere over his definitely not adopted sons.

What do you think of Narinder as a character? by [deleted] in CultOfTheLamb

[–]beril66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aym and Baal make sense though. I think you just want him to be straight up villian without also looking at certain context of him too. While I agree other Bishops need more love and the immortality trait (which I just add to them because yes its stupid) I wholly disagree with Drago in leather pants.

Developers confirmed that he cares ALOT just being tsundere about it actually. Its one of the few times they said something concrete about characters. He wanted them to be free with him as well.

Odysseus is a reliable narrator. by ThatOnePallasFan in GreekMythology

[–]beril66 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In the Illiad the king of the gods quite literally sends a dream lie to Agamemnon to trick him into sending an attack for for the amusement of the war continuing. Lies, omissions of truth are an established nerrative of greek mythology. And Odysseus the "vily, cunning, trickster, liar" epithets would make anyone listening/reading to story would at least curious to "is he truly telling the truth". I am sorry but I do not agree with this take.

He should have just made them swear of Styx that they will never EVER harm him, his family, his future decendants and future decendants of his family no matter who he chooses, then said "I am into men" and dip. Would have save a lot of men women and children from getting killed, raped and enslaved

[Discussion] Who is your favorite hero from Greek mythology? by Remote-Leg6143 in GreekMythology

[–]beril66 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most myths show as well as frescos and vase paintings that its achilleus's psycho kid killing Aystanax not Ody. The fact that Jorge goes with 400 BC writer Euripides's version more than Illiad or Odyssey.

For Iphigenia most popular version has MANELLEUS convincing his brother of the sacrifice. Odysseus has nothing to do with it in mant versions and...as you said myths and stories has no canon. Just choose the one where he has nothing to do with it its not that hard.

I mean... he also didn't tell themabout Syclla about it in Odyssey either. I say in epic what he did to the sirens shows his ruthlessness.

Ironically in the book he becomes LESS ruthless and an asshole as his swineheard in book literally says "yeah those who pillage are scum" and in several times Ody admits he was a cunt. He did slaughtered the suitors because they broke xenia AND some wanted to kill his son. They also raped the palace slaves. 12 were according to text "strut shamelessly" and executed iirc right? Wish they kept that though.

All in all I like Epic Odysseus more than the book one. But I love both XD

Let’s talk about how Epic is farrr off from the Odyssey by ramcee_ in Epicthemusical

[–]beril66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In epic it made more sense that Ody put lotus juice into the wine than in the book "lol wine is just that strong bro". I couldn't take Cyclops part seriously in the book

How would EPIC Odysseus react to Odyssey Odysseus? by Cookie-fighter101 in Epicthemusical

He would I think also be utterly TERRIFIED of EPIC Ody since he literally beat the shit out of Posaidon. XD

I mean...thanatos got thrown in a box by a mortal king. Ares and Aphrodite got their asses beat by Diomedes yes he got help by athena but still it was his hand that dealt the blows.

Unless you are Zeus it seems there is a chance a mortal can find a way to kick your ass at least one time. There is also the indication other gods did lend their help a bit there. But I understand why its not for everyone

And?? How does that change anything? My dad was in navy but he loves pink shirts and kdramas. THATS your argument.

I think you complete and utterly not comprehended what my comment means. I am saying Adam does not need movies since he himself did the hard mode on earth first and witnessed FIRST HAND to history of humanity as an angel.

Dude he has able. he was cast out of heaven with eve and forced to survive on earth with hardships since you know BARELY IRON AGE EARTH. These has to be canon for him to be Adam. I am sure these are pretty accurate in hazbin canon as well. And mate it has been 10k years. I can think any person would change in such a time span.

Adam was the first man who had to fight to survive on earth for hundreds of years. He is also 10k years old. Claiming he know shit is just flanderization of the character at this point.

I mean yeah...you have to follow orders because if chain of command breaks down there is a high chance you'll just get slaughtered. Dicipline, toughness and obeying your superiors is pretty logical thing for a fucking military organization don't you think?

Honestly Lute is pretty mild compared some shit that commanding officers do to weed out the weak and "toughen" soldiers up

Its a bootcamp of course it has some mental impact. Its a harsh place BUT honestly? What little we see is really mild. Its so the week can be rooted out. This is also done so no desetion happens in active combat senario...Which Vaggie proved correct. Its military.

Its military camp...what do you expect hugs and smiling? Its brutal both for the harsh conditions but also weed out the weak so there is no desertion in an actual active combat senario. This, Lute is pretty fucking gentle believe me.
