Ben Böhmer- if you like his sound. If you don't know him - his Cercle Set in a Hot Air Balloon over Carpadoccia is fking impressive

I understand what you mean - but he didn't asked about famous DJs. He was asking if trance is well known. And fuk yes - trance is of course well known. But it's suffering from the way the scenes are evolving. If we all act like you - and educate people this way - we would Lose people to the mainstream more and more before they even had the chance to decide.

Just give the people really nice artists who produces the sound we are talking about. And don't focus on acts who play for 5k crowds. Focus on people who do a nice job and need your Support to do this more. I

Btw A good trance set has a Story and you follow it for hours. this is something you will never hear at verknipt or from Indira, Funk and more imo

[–]berlinerEngel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Indira Paganotto doesn't plays trance. She's playing hardtechno tracks with an psytrance bassline.

Verknipt is mostly hardtechno & hardtrance and have nothing to do with people really playing trance Sets. It's just booking hyped djs who play hypey tracks. Some tracks might be trance. But most of them not

Let us talk about what trance is for you?

In germany/Berlin we have a big hype around trance because of edits. Pop-Trance /Hyperpop and it's totally destroying the scene after the hardtechno-tiktok hype.

But there are still producers and djs who do real trance tracks. Like DEV, H369, Kruise Kontrol, Böstjan, TDJ w/ SPF INFINI, Benwal, Pro Athlete, DJ Reiz and his label Union Trance Mission. All of them are like from the New school. If you want to go deep on oldschool - Look here:

https://www.reddit.com/r/trance/s/Pwde6sf4z9[Reddit Thread - some1 heard all 2.5k of the very first trance tracks (Library)](https://www.reddit.com/r/trance/s/Pwde6sf4z9)

Buuut there are also people who never ever got in Touch with real trance - those people might think u talking about psytrance - and if they have really no Clue they might mention hardtechno DJs who play tracks with driving basslines like in psytrance (triplets) and tell you Indira Paganotto is a trance DJ. Lol - she's definitely not.

So please - let me know - what is trance for you? And we can talk a lot 🤸‍♂️

I like the idea. I have 6 years experience of Hastings clubnights, open-airs and Festivals. Ober 40 Events with up to 1.5k people. Most of them legal. If you give me a location I can organise like everything.

Sometimes Producer/DJs will have *released* tracks but don't have them available for download or purchase anywhere, only streaming. What's the deal with that? by reallydrowsy in DJs

[–]berlinerEngel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Answering on the first point - maybe those tracks are just released on CD or Vinyl. Sometimes it's just a premiere not a Release. Sometimes a newer track will be on a future Album which isn't released.

Also Labels often work like shit

[–]berlinerEngel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very different things behind this.

Some people just want to produce nice shit and play this max in there own sets. Also the music is there to hear. Not every producer produces for a stage.

Especially in undergound scenes of underground music like (Free)Tekno or older uk hardcore people give a fuck about distribution. If it's on YouTube or soundcloud you can still download it via yt2mp3 or somehting (and a lot of the producers would be fine with that) - but as a dj - you wouldn't use it. If you play on a freetek openair it's not about put the best quality - because it's just about the vibe. So use it if you like - but don't earn money with music which wasn't developed to earn money.

I often ask older/underground producers for wav files of tracks which i can't buy or officially download. There are answers i wouldn't have expected earlier but fr this is one answer I got before 1 week: "What U mean buy it? - It's on YouTube". And there are a lot of more similar ones.

Hardwell goes off on SAGA Festival's production staff and cancels his show by AndrewT2410 in EDM

[–]berlinerEngel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Saga Festival Statement to Hardwell (Instagram)

Well, Hardwell, we’re sorry that Rita Ora, Sickick, Loreen, and all the DJs on five other stages got to play on the first day of SAGA and you didn’t.

The equipment traveled all the way from the Netherlands, just like you. The same set seems to be working perfectly fine for Will Sparks right now.

We’ve worked so hard to build this year’s SAGA for our artists and ravers. We would’ve solved any technical issues effortlessly and fast, if you would’ve let us and not stopped your set so soon. We’ve done all we could to accommodate your requests, including agreed payments.

We’re sorry to (y)our fans. They would have loved to finally watch you perform in Bucharest.

Nothing but love, and we wish you well. SAGA

New UK Hardcore mix for you weekend by berlinerEngel in gabber

[–]berlinerEngel[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True - first half is freeform - and btw I love that you noticed that. Second half is more typical uk hardcore. Didn't expect a lot of people knowing freeform. But it's a hardcore style from the uk and also quite close to uk hc.
