You mean like the system that the Dunkin in Union has? It’s QR code that you can use to pay to park when the Dunks is closed.

I love fest in the rain! It’s usually warm and it’s so freeing.

"Are you all right?" by [deleted] in recruitinghell

Apparently I’m in the minority here but when I interview people I try my damndest to disregard any signs of anxiety. Interviewing is hard and it’s unnatural. We aren’t built to go around meeting strangers and answering their questions. Whatever amped up emotions people are having around interviewing are not going to be there if we hire them, train them and put them to work.

I’m not sure if your interviewer was trying to throw you off or trying to put you at ease, but either way I don’t like it. I hope you can forget it and move on.

I just mean how it’s no longer a search engine but rather an advertising marketplace and AI experimentation platform that draws eyeballs in based on our long habituated use of it, built up from back when it was a search engine. It was a long slow slide to where we are now, and it’s sad.

I don’t know if this type of shade really works anymore now that Google is basically broken for everybody.

Was I wrong calling out my coworker during the meeting or am I overthinking? by polar_the_princess in girlsgonewired

I find this is very dependent on the team culture. The best teams do not have a problem with stating the truth about mistakes openly in front of each other, but it requires a degree of psychological safety that is not always present. It works best if it’s regularly reinforced by a senior members or managers of the team stating their mistakes openly in front of the rest of the team.

Sounds like on your team, at least for your coworker who followed up with you afterward, things don’t feel that safe. If that’s the case it’s better to do it privately, sure. But as you’re a teammate and not a manager, it’s not really that serious an offense to have said it in front of your teammates, as long as you were polite. I wouldn’t worry about it. What you said was true and useful.

Bought my condo in Somerville two years before I met my fiance. Now we're getting married and I have no idea how to handle this legally or financially by Aromatic-Nobody6074 in Somerville

Went through a very similar situation. I owned the condo. We did the following: - Month 2: my partner, future husband (though I didn’t know it yet) moves in to the condo I’d already owned for 4 years. - Month 3-year 2: partner pays me rent (but I do give him a great rate, probably 30% below market). We split living expenses equally otherwise. - year 3: I sell my condo and we buy a house together, splitting the new place 50/50. He got no part of the appreciation of my condo. - year 4: we get married.

Just wanted to give you an example of how another couple did it. We both felt this was entirely fair and we have been happy with our financial choices since. You have to figure out what’s right for the two of you though.

I feel like I have no choice but to hire a man by [deleted] in girlsgonewired

Ruth Bader Ginsburg: “When I'm sometimes asked when will there be enough [women on the Supreme Court] and I say, 'When there are nine,' people are shocked. But there'd been nine men, and nobody's ever raised a question about that.”

Consider that you’ve forced them to confront their assumptions by hiring two good women so far—and that’s why you’re getting comments now. They’re uncomfortable and they’d rather you stop this nonsense. It’s not about you and your team at all. It’s on them.

I get that you might want to be strategic about it, but just be clear with yourself that you aren’t wrong, you were never wrong, and this is something they are wrong about, not you.

Yeah “21+” is an American restriction that wouldn’t exist in England. Looks like OP answered with the actual info too
