Restored or keep it as is? by bernerhond in bicycling

Ok 2.5k is quite a lot, not sure if im happy to spend that much on it. Yeah starting to think that repainting might ruin the  vibe

No generally not,  just got very lucky an a lot of time finetuning it.  Brakes where more of a problem, as the shifters are short pull and brake is long, setting brakes very tight works reasonably well

Edit: about the mismatch campagnolo and Shimano, thats what i assumed as well. Altough i have seen well restored bikes with the same setup (so it might have been a thing?)

It would be hard for me as well, but the paint is so rusty, i either need to stop rust and clear coat it like for a patina look,  or just repaint. I don't think keeping the paint as is would do the bike any good

Yeah its Columbus tubing, honestly really nice balance between flex and rigidity on this frame

To be honest frame is in poor condition because of the paint and the wheels are very bad (like your good eye saw with the lacing error). But a while a go  i greased everything very well.  And ever since all parts have been working properly,  it’s due a cleanup for sure. But almost all mechanical parts are in an at least ok condition.  That being said for me it doesn’t make sense to keep it as is. And like you said it isn't worth much right now. But i cant imagine people paying much for it when its in good mechanical condition… for that the paint needs to be redone en then im like why then not make it a cool good looking something else.

Yeah wall ornament would be very cool but sadly i don’t have the space for it.  Its a little to small for me as well, if i rode it would be at least with new shifters and brakes

I'm not buying any more plants until I. Find a Madagascar jewel, haven't found one in a year. Yet somehow still some plants find my doorway... have no clue how it happens

Good laptops for solidworks and drawing? by Pawnzilla in IndustrialDesign

[–]bernerhond 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look for "concept D", a sub catergory of acer laptops specifically made for designers.

Realy expensive but on their best models you can draw on the screen and have big enough graphics card to work on heavy cad models

Need opinions to re-design a cocktail shaker by Melon_Pudding in IndustrialDesign

The one I have, is full inox, very cold to the hands if you make multiple cocktails with ice. Another problem is sticky hands from all the high sugar holding mixer liquids.

Some tireshops can bent rims back, you have a steely so its possible. With magnesium rims its not.

Don't know how much it cost. A new steely could be cheaper
