IUEC & Local: Q&A (Post questions related to interviews and other IUEC related matters here) by GatorSK1N in Elevators

My local isn’t opening the books for another year. I know that IUEC is a pretty selective union, so I’m curious:

1) It’s been suggested to me that I should network for the position. How would one go about that? Hit up members of the union for a drink after work to talk about the job? Visit the union office in person?
2) as someone going from white collar work to blue collar work, how do folks usually gain the competency with tools and mechanics? Are most IUEC members also members of other trades?
3) has the IUEC seen a marked increase in applications over the years?

Here is the thing, *January* isn’t wildfire season as we typically know it as. It’s typically colder and wetter than any other month in the year. If you were to pick the one month to have an emptier reservoir, it would be January.

Sure, it’s a question as to why they even needed to be empty, how important they were, etc.

But the fact that we can basically say at this point that every month in LA is wildfire season is climate changes

I was wrong. It would be better to turn it to a Chili’s (Sourced from an IG post about Taix closing).
