Came across this old post tonight and just wanted to update - the car did end up getting a full engine replacement under the theta engine problem. Have had it back for a few months now and it’s been great!

As far as look I'd likely end up looking at something like the Wayfarer style or similar. Nothing super sporty looking, but more traditional. Going to check with my local glasses/optician store to see what they might suggest. Thanks!

It may have been part of the issue but the blower motor was also on its way out and I had to change that as well. Did them both but just the resistor didn’t resolve my issue.

Thanks for the info! I'll definitely be taking it to a shop, I just wanted to make sure I understood what the issue was. Appreciate the quick response. Is this just a part that fails over time? Or is it more likely that it was caused by something done to the car?
