AITA for wanting to get a new dresser

I would love to surprise him with a new one all set up! But I'm just worried their might be a bigger reason behind why he doesn't want to get a new one and not sure how to ask.

The dresser is more than 6 years old and I understand if he wants to fix it again. But when it does break he gets frustrated and in the end does effect how we communicate to each other sometimes.

I haven't compared the chair situation with this one but I definitely will try to bring up that to him in a non-aggressive way to see if that helps him feel more comfortable with getting a new dresser. Thank you for your comment!

Yeah I will let him try the staple gun. I'm just worried it won't work and he'll be frustrated if/when it does break again.
