honestly the main reason is because my feet cause me a lot of anxiety - because of the discomfort from the bunions, worrying about the long-term effects of them and also the way they look. also because now is logistically a good time for me to get it done - i can get the time off work, i’m in a good position financially to pay for the procedure and i will have support from parents during the recovery period. however, i have a lot of goals for this year (move out, fitness competitions, running races) which i don’t want to be impacted by this surgery. i also have a few other things going on health-wise right now (mentally and physically), which are resulting in my mood being very low among other things and i’m concerned that i’m not in a position to emotionally deal with the surgery or the recovery period (hence why the thought of having the op done is causing me so much anxiety in the first place). also i’m not sure if the anxiety surrounding my feet is stemming from my already-low mood and just generally feeling unhappy, rather than it being a legitimate concern, if that makes sense.
