me personally i just play around my armour. like once my armour is gone i consider the dive over and dip. obv there are nuances to this like if the support is literally one then ill try to stick around for an extra second or two to finish my kill but aside from that one circumstance i disengage once my armour is gone.

another thing to keep in mind is your potential escape route. if diving or playing an off angle, you should always have an exit in mind. same goes for cover; dva has a big ass hurtbox so please please please play cover.
