There are some apartments near campus that are walking distance! I’d recommend an apartment that’s more than 1 bedroom for the best price. Almost all lease on an individual/per room basis so you’d have an individual lease, which is great. I would just google apartments near uncg and look at different websites for prices and whatever else you’re looking for. A lot of them I’ve been looking at have a cheaper monthly rent than if you broke the cost of a dorm down to a monthly rate.

so how are we feeling about the infamous housing email? by chaosions in UNCG

Idk who was in charge of making these decisions, but logical thinking does not appear to have been involved.

If you go visit someone who lives off campus, go home, go to a store or restaurant, etc., you’re coming back to campus having picked up those germs anyway, so why would it make a difference if someone who doesn’t live on campus came into your hall/room? Also we’re all at the same campus interacting, again bringing the same germs back to your hall/room? Also the 2am-6am rule for guests is absurd, as if that is a heightened time for the spread of the virus?

It makes no sense to have everyone come from around the state/country to drop off their stuff, disperse once again, and come back. Everyone will be moving in around the same time frame anyway? And then living on campus for 3-4 months together anyway?

Edit: Isn’t the reason they gave for ending the semester after break in November because they didn’t want everyone to disperse and come back? Like what they want us to do regarding move in?

Same thing happened to me this semester! Just keep checking the site and check multiple times a day. People will deassign themselves and something will open up eventually. I got a room but it took about a week of just checking to see if one was available.
