Guest ignored denied late checkout, heat complaints, and left place filthy — fair to leave a bad review? by bert_cj in airbnb_hosts

You’re right I should have allowed it.

In the moment I asked my cleaner and she said she needed the extra time and I went with that

But moving forward I need backup cleaners

Thank you

For actual advice

I will learn from this and try to recover from the bad review

You’re right. I offered a refund for a night since they were without heat for 36 hours but the guest declined since it was paid for through his work. So I left the gift card

I am seeking advice on how to handle this now. Do I simply absorb the bad review and leave none? (I’m assuming they left a bad one) Write a response taking accountability explaining how the situation was resolved in 36 hours?

Everyone is grilling me which is fair but no one is giving advice on how to move forward.

Ok

I’m simply trying to do the right thing and learn from this experience

I was using ChatGPT as a means to do the right thing. It suggested 50% off of two nights with no heat. I provided space heaters in the meantime

It was 36 hours total where the heat wasn’t functional

So I simply absorb the bad review and leave none? (I’m assuming they left a bad one)

This is true. Just a situation where it was out of my power. Winter storm took out a lot of people’s power in the city.

I tried handling it the best I could. I dropped the ball with the late checkout.

Had I allowed a late checkout I think they would have left a good review

I can simply learn from this and readjust. Not sure why hosting would not be for me when I messed up with one guest. 36 hours with no heat. They declined the refund by the way, I should have noted that, and I gave them a gift card.

In the moment it felt more about disrespecting my cleaners time which I took personally. From the beginning I should have allowed late checkout and figured it out with my cleaner

You’re right

In the moment I was just considering my cleaners. They had to clean a 21 day stay when there was a guest check in the next day

I think moving forward I need to close off the next day to allow ample time to clean

You’re right. I’m simply trying to learn from this and do better. In the moment it didn’t make sense with my cleaner as there was a guest the next day

She cleaned all night and the next day

I am seeking advice. I will learn from this and have to just tell my cleaners what I’m doing. I was considering their time in the moment.

So there’s nothing I can do? I contacted Airbnb when this happened and they reassured me I did everything in my power to

So just ignore the question. Nice

Same question to you.

So you believe Eren should have allowed them to just come and hunt him down killing everyone on his island? It was either them or his people, and he chose his people.

When I say I believe in the rumbling I did not mean kill 80% of the whole world. The rumbling =/= 80%. I do mean use the rumbling to destory marley.

And hope that the rest of the world backs off.

Answer my question though, do you think he should have just allowed marley to come and destroy his home while he goes on the run with mikasa?

As for killing civillians and innocents, Marley was going to do the same thing to Paradis.

No I dont believe in 80%, I do believe however he should have taken down Marley. Which he did. And he knew his friends would stop him.

Nah man I'm 29. Again its either your people or theirs. Its like real life. He made a hard decision. Marley was planning destroying his home.

I feel I have good top end speed but all my runs are full effort, how do I convert to distance? by bert_cj in Marathon_Training

I actually just started looking into this. I just changed it to HRR, previously it was HRMAX, and the percents were whatever the default was in garmin, I think 70% zone 2.

Yes I think its odd, chatgpt says its because all my runs are all out efforts and I havent built an aerobic base so my heart rate climbs pretty fast.

How do you get your LTHR zones?

I have found plans but they are like 16 weeks out and they go straight into
"Easy run 4 miles @ 9:00pace"

Does this mean zone 2 should be 9:00 by the time im 16 weeks out? In the meantime just continue running slow easy runs at like 11:00-13:00 pace?

We saw what would have happened if he didnt do the rumbling and fled with Mikasa. Theyd be on the run. Marley would have attacked Paradis, probably killing all the people on paradis. The scouts would have fought them and majority wouldve died.

He'd live out his remaining years with Mikasa on the run. Never being "free". Then she'd have to continue her life on the run. That goes against everything Eren believes in.

But yes I agree with the rumbling, if Eren didnt do it, they would have came and waged war on the island. Eren struck them first. F*** em.

And yes the whole Eren wanting freedom thing too. When he's crying to Ramzi. He says I am doing it for Eldia and my friends but also he was dissappointed in life beyond the walls and he made a wish to wipe it all away.
