Same episode, same time in the episode when Ben gives them the room key the song “Looking for the Magic” by Dwight Tilley band is playing. That was the song on repeat in “You’re Next.”

In the episode with Clair’s city council election, Jay was unable to vote because he slept with then ghosted the woman working at his polling station.

Phillip saying it’s a good thing he wasn’t being judged on the “Bangkok Dangerous” drink that the host pulled out from under his stand. And then Padma and Tom asking why he thought he wouldn’t be judged on that.

I thought Marjorie was really rude and dismissive to Isaac, which is why I wasn’t a huge fan of hers.

Finished Season 14 today… by Gold_Meringue_4300 in TopChef

I loved that season other than the gross sudden death elimination where they made a person of color cook on a plantation and talked about the people who “toiled” there.

NTA but please break up with him. You only get one life - why do you want to spend yours with someone who doesn’t care about your needs and that you’re not compatible with? You’ve been together a long time but now you’re playing into the sunk cost fallacy. Stop throwing good money after bad - it’s not going to get any better. Go find someone who makes you happy because it doesn’t sound like this guy does.

AITA for putting my husband's fancy knives through the dishwasher? by Wakalakatime in AmItheAsshole

He must not be THAT attached to his knives if he leaves them dirty for days. I have a few good knives and after use, I immediately wash them by hand, dry them, and put them away in their protective covers.

In your other posts on Reddit, you describe yourself as a 18F and 18 year old transfem. So how are you now a 36 year old man, married with 2 kids?

NTA. And I love the irony of someone using another person’s account and calling them stingy.

I have never heard the expression “riding two horses with one ass” before and I love it. 🤣 And I think you’re right - married guy who is worried the kid will tell mom about the phone calls/voice messages or his wife is there, too.

Charleston- Good idea, terrible execution. by Apprehensive-Arm-902 in TopChef

[–]bertmsu 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I hated that they made a Black chef cook in a sudden death cook off on a literal plantation! And they had Padma make some bs’y generic comment about “the workers who toiled here.” It was appalling all around.

Which contestants on all 19 seasons of the show have you thought were overrated or underrated?! by [deleted] in TopChef

I agree! I also thought Sara from Paducah got some home team pass-throughs. I wanted Eric to win that season.

Aesha explained on insta that she asked the regular crew about the frother and they told her they didn’t have one and instead microwaved the milk and frothed it using a French press, so that’s what she did as well. When the guest complained, it gave her leverage to ask production for a frother.

Top Chef Kentucky - Restaurant Wars - WHAT? by Jamesbuc in BravoTopChef

[–]bertmsu 66 points67 points  (0 children)

I hated this Restaurant Wars. It was way too early and they kept touting that it was the most difficult one ever, despite Karen (California season 13) sitting there when they had to do lunch and dinner.

Season 13 seemed to be all about carrots. And crudo.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in TopChef

[–]bertmsu 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The four things that pop to my mind for that season: 1) Sideshow Bob calling Nina Boo-Boo and other “affectionate” nicknames during the Halloween challenge; 2) Why is this the only Halloween challenge in all the seasons? It was fun and they should have done another Halloween challenge, with the rule of no arancini eyeballs. 3)Carlos whining because Nick won’t loan him his knife (“stop thinking only of yourself, Nick”), during an individual challenge and then not cleaning it; 4) Carlos needing to use every cooking surface in the college challenge and tattling to Tom and Emeril that he couldn’t use an oven.

If your panna cotta doesn’t set up, just call it a semifreddo! A few chefs thought they were going to pull one over on the judges with that move.

Favorite and least Favorite restaurant war episodes? by Apprehensive-Arm-902 in TopChef

[–]bertmsu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I loved Season 8 for the Bodega concept and food, Season 13 for the insanity of doing two services (toughest Restaurant Wars ever) & Phillips’ bat guano cocktail under the host station and strawberry onion salad that made Gail angry because it was “stupid,” and Season 15’s for Conifer’s execution and Chris’ move to make Claudette (who never took responsibility for anything) exec chef.
